Of course mate but seeing the massive fallout from this perhaps now is the time to push for real change rather than just ''kick them out'' and go back to the status quo. We can't be having rats who have sold the game out for years positioning themselves as the good guys simply because they aren't the super league. Everyone needs to be held accountable for the utter state of modern football.
All this noise and UEFA have just slipped through their Champions League changes that lets elite clubs who haven't qualified in through the back door based on history.
I think you're right. Now is the time for leadership in the game to defend grass roots, the social links and the integrity of competitions. Step forward Everton? The Premier League would already have grounds for sanctions such as immediate docking of points, for this attack. They need to be hit for 30-ish points, to really make the point. Force the scab 6 to play out their domestic fixtures in the knowledge 1 or 2 of them may be technically 'relegated'. If they proceed, they get chucked out, having already faced sanctions, and they are replaced with the next 6 from the Championship and so on down the pyramid. If the subsequently back-pedal and want to come back in, they have to start at the bottom and earn their promotions, thereby boosting gates through the leagues.
Spurs and Man City can't be allowed to play out the Carabao Cup final. And they need to be expelled from the FA Cup, too. I'd love to rewind to the quarters...!!!
UEFA can kick them out (and have mooted it) and reinstate their immediate past opponents to fulfil the fixtures for this season. I'd love them then to reinstate proper, prestigious knock-out tournaments without quasi leagues. Or at least have a proper Champions Cup for the actual reigning champions. Let the Judas 12 rot with their international flying circus, playing games globally (which they surely will) for the telly clappers.
Of course, will the powers that be act decisively? If not, they are acquiescing and allowing the breakaway mob dictate the agenda. So, I hope there is some courage shown. We'll see.
