Champions League revamp

It would break my heart if Brighton voted against these 6 to preserve our PL status rather than because it's the right thing to do.
Agree, but the ramifications of this for the lower leagues is huge in terms of revenue. Sometimes, you have to fight fire with fire.

Im kinda torn over all this. On one hand the snide part of me totally wants them to all be kicked out of premier league but the slightly more rational part of my brain thinks the Premier League and Everton would suffer from it due to huge drop in sponsorship/tv money/audience etc.

No one is going to take champions of England seriously when the 6 supposed biggest clubs in England don't even compete in said tournament

I understand the dilemma but surely football would carry on without these clubs and it would mean it’s fairer and real competition rather than a closed shop.

I would take the revenue drop to support my team in a competitive league that this any day

I was like that but now I’m definitely all for them being booted out. Why should we accept them in the league now? They decided they’re too good for it and are deserving of much, much, more, they don’t care about the football pyramid as whole and the effect it will have on it.
Absolutely fook them off I say. I’m happy for football to be given a reset if it means we have to take a temporary financial hit and not get bigger tv & sponsorship deals then I’m all for it. At no point should we (other 14 PL clubs) pander to these rats.

We would suffer. The whole footballing pyramid would suffer.

But we’d suffer more having the same 6 teams having a massively unfair advantage for the rest of time. It would be impossible for anybody else to compete. Ever.

There would be no point at all.

We can build new brands, Wil take 5 years and we get our footie back
That won’t happen, but it’s fine because I’m not bothered about building brands. A more even competition would be nice, but let’s not ignore the fact that this could very much be the much talked about bursting of the bubble, and the consequences could be catastrophic.

But maybe that would be the beginning of getting football back to where it always belonged. The fans.

Also, for those six clubs never again being able to call themselves Champions of England, must be a major blow to them. But no doubt, that blow will be softened by all the money.

Only one way to find out I gues. Get rid!

Of course mate but seeing the massive fallout from this perhaps now is the time to push for real change rather than just ''kick them out'' and go back to the status quo. We can't be having rats who have sold the game out for years positioning themselves as the good guys simply because they aren't the super league. Everyone needs to be held accountable for the utter state of modern football.

All this noise and UEFA have just slipped through their Champions League changes that lets elite clubs who haven't qualified in through the back door based on history.
I think you're right. Now is the time for leadership in the game to defend grass roots, the social links and the integrity of competitions. Step forward Everton? The Premier League would already have grounds for sanctions such as immediate docking of points, for this attack. They need to be hit for 30-ish points, to really make the point. Force the scab 6 to play out their domestic fixtures in the knowledge 1 or 2 of them may be technically 'relegated'. If they proceed, they get chucked out, having already faced sanctions, and they are replaced with the next 6 from the Championship and so on down the pyramid. If the subsequently back-pedal and want to come back in, they have to start at the bottom and earn their promotions, thereby boosting gates through the leagues.

Spurs and Man City can't be allowed to play out the Carabao Cup final. And they need to be expelled from the FA Cup, too. I'd love to rewind to the quarters...!!!

UEFA can kick them out (and have mooted it) and reinstate their immediate past opponents to fulfil the fixtures for this season. I'd love them then to reinstate proper, prestigious knock-out tournaments without quasi leagues. Or at least have a proper Champions Cup for the actual reigning champions. Let the Judas 12 rot with their international flying circus, playing games globally (which they surely will) for the telly clappers.

Of course, will the powers that be act decisively? If not, they are acquiescing and allowing the breakaway mob dictate the agenda. So, I hope there is some courage shown. We'll see.

I suspect the PL will be devalued either way. What overseas fans are going to tune into Man Utd v Sheff Utd on a Saturday when they can watch them play Barca every Wednesday night at a more convenient time.

PL has been absolutely shafted and they need to stand up to this.

I don't think Levy, Kroenke and Henry have put enough thought into how much their brands are based off of success and how they'll have to spend loads of dough to compete and maintain that.

I don't think any of the clubs have to be honest.

Every single one of these clubs' "future fans" have been enticed by winning stuff, glory hunters basically. Bob from Malaysia isn't going to carry on supporting Liverpool if they are getting humped every week (actually not much different to this season...) when he can support Barcelona instead, and why not? It's not like he has any real attachment to them.

Also can the media refrain for once about making the kopites the forefront of the fan protest movement against this. They’re part of the reason this is even happening, they’re the fans who drove previous owners out the club until they got ones so greedy they’d do whatever it took to win. This is the natural consequence of that now. Don’t make them the pin up boys for the grassroots movement, they couldn’t care less about it.
To be fair they only did what we did to Peter Johnson
