Champions League revamp

I don't think any of the clubs have to be honest.

Every single one of these clubs' "future fans" have been enticed by winning stuff, glory hunters basically. Bob from Malaysia isn't going to carry on supporting Liverpool if they are getting humped every week (actually not much different to this season...) when he can support Barcelona instead, and why not? It's not like he has any real attachment to them.
The SL will have a big following at 1st then half way through the season when 12 teams have nowt to play for will lose all their fans

If you read the rest of my post then you would have seen that was exactly the point I was making. Not because there was no support there, but because of the financial implications of no income from games. It's a definite leveller.
Really sorry mate, I skim read it as I was making myself a cuppa. Note to self - don't mult-itask.

There is any easy way to solve it like... well easy-ish anyway.

Let them go and play in their super duper shiny league, let them stay in their domestic leagues, but don't let them spend a penny of what they earn from it on players.

I was going to say play a reserve team as they will do it anyway but they already do in a lot of games. De Bruyne never seems to start against us etc. Its pathetic really.

It's been a big leveller and has made them take a risky and you may say reckless manouvre. If they are booted out of the PL, it would be enormous pressure on them.

The big 6 don't care about football anymore, we have to stand tall and move on without them. I don't care about global support, huge sponsors or huge wages. Money can still be made without those 6. We cant sit with our hands begging them to stay. The league is now devalued and that will kill British football. Without the 6, we will have a competitive league and the fans, nothing else matters.
I mean if the tv money and sponsorship deals disappear there’s a very real possibility that we could go bust but sure we can ignore that and just look at the possible upsides.

If this league happens the losers will be PL but could benefit the lower leagues. 6 more clubs will come up from Championship and see a big increase in revenue although nowhere near the level it is now. That will have a knock-on effect with teams coming up from L1 etc. Maybe even restructure with a merged L1/L2 as a result. The cup games will now be more open (good news for all of us) too. If there's any sort of blacklisting of players either playing domestically or internationally, it should be easier to retain young talent and likely sales will have a huge premium attached.
Maybe, but those leagues rely heavily on the cash that filters down into them from the premier league. We could see clubs going into administration over this.

Would be unenforceable

Also massively ironic how none of these clubs were founding members of the football league.

Football survived before these teams and it will survive long after they’ve gone.
Goodison would still get packed out and so would all the other grounds, these atmospheres are a part of what makes the Premier League so entertaining.

It might not end up being one of the best leagues and draw the best players in the world, but all I would care about is Everton competing in whatever league they're in anyway.

Im kinda torn over all this. On one hand the snide part of me totally wants them to all be kicked out of premier league but the slightly more rational part of my brain thinks the Premier League and Everton would suffer from it due to huge drop in sponsorship/tv money/audience etc.

No one is going to take champions of England seriously when the 6 supposed biggest clubs in England don't even compete in said tournament
There could well be that risk. But even with that risk I doubt the English league would fall further than say the eredivise or the Portuguese league in terms of standard of football.

I would much rather support a team playing competitive football in a league the standard of the eredivise, than what happens if we let these 6 clubs bully their way to get what they want.

It's the lesser of 2 evils, and it's not even close.
