They have to speak out then, and show they are against it. What’s more important, the money that lines their pockets or the beautiful game?Is that fair on the players though, what if they're against it, what a mess this is.
ThenYes, there is a specific rule saying that the PL has to consent to a club taking part in another competition.
I'm not sure it is. I don't think too many people are getting up in the middle of the night to watch Norwich play Brighton if i'm honest. Part of the appeal of the PL is that all the other clubs play the big boys and might just turn them over. Take away that possibility and it changes the entire product.
Yeah, it's a mess, there is no easy out for anyone here, someone has to stand tall. They have to speak out then, and show they are against it. What’s more important, the money that lines their pockets or the beautiful game?
Can anyone give a summary of this?
ThanksBasically its a call for players to speak out. Those like Kane as England captain, Rashford, etc.
They've signed the intent and left the ECA, there's no going back, this will be seen through one way or another, the football game has changed today. The bosman is no longer footballs biggest change. What happens if it goes tits up and they backpeddle? Do we just get on with our competitions and pretend like nothing happened? They can hardly be punished if they hadn't physically left yet. It'll be a properly weird situation.
I don’t know how those clubs in the top half on the league would vote, but, surely there will be an incentive for the bottom 3 and those hovering above there to vote against these 6 clubs if it means saving their premier league status?
Well the overseas market is huge. Say what you like about the people behind this, but one thing they definitely aren't is stupid. They know full well there is a huge market for this proposal, they aren't just doing this on a whim. The price of UK rights has been going down while the price of overseas rights is going up. Those people want to see Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea etc. And obviously UK rights would take a big hit because 6 of the biggest supported clubs in the country would no longer be in the league. Fans of those clubs will be paying DAZN, they won't paying Sky to watch the PL when they aren't in it. It would be like me getting a Sky subscription to watch the Championship.
