Champions League revamp

I think City will be the first to fold....

I don’t want City wanted in, regardless.

Reminds me of peer pressure in school, “oh come in, it’ll be fun”. Once the first 4-5 teams were in and momentum was flowing, all it took was for them to highlight how it would affect City’s brand.
I think they and Chelsea will change their minds... although whether that’s with dirty Premier League/UEFA money, I don’t know.

Does it even need votes? Surely it’s just down to what the FA wants to do. If some clubs don’t want them kicked out but the FA do it anyway they’re not going to kick up a fuss.

Not honestly sure what the process is or what might happen. I just dont see expulsions happening until way down the line as a last resort.

If they have broken league rules then there must be sanctions tomorrow though. Proper consequences.

Im not saying keep them, but they bring around 70% of the leagues revenue.

Which means Everton would have to operate at around 30% of its current levels.

Thats a LOT of pay cuts like.

I think short term it would be tough but a lot of variables at play - will TV companies show loyalty and give a fixed period of steady albeit reduced deals for a traditional period whilst clubs adjusted? Will players take pay cuts? Will the transfer market adjust and go from average £30 million players to now being sold at £5-10 million?

For me its down to principle - we can keep kicking the can down the road but eventually you have to accept that they want out.

If anything use that as motivation to build a brand strong enough to go up against it and win long term.

Reactions: LE3

Demoting the scab 6 to the conference could be the best thing to happen to English football in decades.

1. Only 2 promotion places from the conference each season so at least 2 of them would be stuck there for 3 seasons.
2. Increased TV and gate receipt money for conference clubs and subsequently football league clubs as the 6 try to get back to the top league.
3. Changing of the guard at the top of the Premier league and around Europe.
