Champions League revamp

I'm not happy per se, but if SL happens, I'll watch the games there sooner than I'd watch CL. Can't remember when's the last time I got excited about CL if it wasn't a SF game.

And we'll still be challenging, maybe even qualify for CL. It's not going anywhere. I'd hardly call that 'Everton rotting'.
Why would you be excited by watching any clubs in any other competition that isn't everton?

OK, so you would rather watch Real Madrid V Barca every week, than Everton V Real Madrid once every few years if we are lucky enough to qualify?!?!?!

You are so keen on plastic football and plastic fans and clubs that you will happily watch the demise of your own club to suit the needs to a few wealthy yanks and a billions Asian "fans"

Jesus, you are tragic

Like we didn't care 'bout our best interests and never broke off and founded the prem right? And basically made super league possible by catering to TV rights since 90s, opening up to fishy arab&russian money just for the sake of profits.
But that wasn't a closed shop, were the winners and losers are already chosen before each season began and you know it, or should.

I wonder what a player can do if they are on the books of one of these six sides but they don't want to play in the Super League?

Do they have an option to walk from their deal or will they be forced to see out their contract?

You'd think that with things like international bans and whatnot on the table, that players will have an option to void their deals as they signed up for Premier League and not Super League, but who knows

I could see this happening. One will walk then others follow, it would be incredible

The other 14 clubs should be sitting down and engaging with all other English football leagues and drawing out plans for a new English league pyramid that excludes those 6 clubs. A complete restructure to make things more competitive and fair. If the Government are true to their word they can also play a big part in this.

I get the owners of certain clubs depend too much on the TV revenue money but at what point do they decide enough is enough, we are being told what to do by a group of 6 clubs who think they are entitled and clearly don’t respect or value it’s current league or fellow competitors. The rest of us are flies on a horses back. The complete lack of respect shown is beyond a joke.

Agree with this article let it happen!

Our neighbours,

this article has some good points, it’s a great opportunity for the game to heal itself.
Nobody cares about those clubs other than the fans of those clubs.
Let them go and enjoy the [Poor language removed] mini league that nobody else is interested in.
It will soon get tired and if focus by
UEFA, the Premier League, Sky and BT Sport is kept on what exists, it will be like it never happened.
The fans don’t want to go, but it’s not up to them any more sadly, plus they lost their rights to complain a long time ago.
Any divorce looks scary at first, but you learn to realise than things are going to be just fine and in a few years you look back and wonder what all the fuss was about.

They should just cancel the league cup (I'm not calling it by its latest cringeworthy brand name) final at the weekend and be done with it. Neither Man City or Spurs deserve a chance to win a trophy that they have so little respect for. Just cancel it and give the trophy to Brentford. Do the same thing for the FA cup final to, just hand it over to Leicester City now and be done with it. No more pandering to the scab six.

Why would you get excited about a league with no jeopardy or consequences for losing?

I haven't been on twitter for ages, just had a gander and Elton Welsby follows me haha I am in the hairy arm club. Not a fan of twitter but with this going on it has its uses.
