Champions League revamp

We would love to see that happen but let's break it down........

1) Full agreement wont happen - Steve Parrish as good as said last night we need the six in the league
2) Massive points deduction - Why / under what rule?
3) Cups - I know it's way less significant than PL TV rights, but what about TV money if it's not completed? Restart would suggest the TV will play a role in decisions to complete, even if that is now a "tick the box" exercise
4) See point one

It’s that attitude from Parish that will see them get the best of both worlds ultimately. Too many clubs depending on the TV revenue money, terrified of what might come if they lose it. Pretty much them 6 clubs have everyone by the short and curlies. Sickening.

Couldnt agree more unfortunately

I reckon one year hiatus to agree "signigicant changes" to the football model

They are getting their super tele clappers league and will continue to play in the premier league, gutless to the core English football.
These 6 will face crowd hostility like we’ve never seen when they turn up at PL away grounds next season.
I understand the calls for the ESL to be stopped, but I want it to play out and sit back and watch the resulting mess.

I said it before and following Perez’ comments last night, I feel like I’m right.

The power 5 driving this, all have their own reasons, Greed, Fear, Jealousy, but the others don’t care they just want to he United in getting more and more money.

Making a comment that the Premier League gets more money... well, it’s the most fairly distributed and it makes a more competitive league. They’ve marketed well. Now that the years of financially abysmal decisions by the big two are catching up, their targeting the wealth of the richest league, despite taking just shy of 50% of the TV revenue between the pair in Spain.

Juventus want that security of guaranteed elite football, in fear that they won’t always dominate.

United and Liverpool want what Real Madrid have in Spain, a lions share of the TV Money.

Ultimately, you don’t become a billionaire by making nice decisions, but feel they may have just burnt their bridges here.

That’s the bit they don’t seem to get.

I think the clubs planning this are really risking the future. Will Liverpool move permanently to Boston in time?? I could definitely see that happening and I bet you it’s already been discussed as part of the long term vision.

It’s been said by themselves already. They don’t care for the fans of the past, they’ll cater for the fans of the future knowing they’ll still retain the majority of the fans from the past at there new base.

It’s all about money and having a massive fan base in the UK having to stream games from the US whilst giving the sport a huge kick start over there ticks all the boxes.

Football might have more viewers if a certain few clubs didn’t have such an advantage that they won everything and most fans know they can’t realistically win anything ever. Then those clubs are blaming the system they created, laughable .

Alternate future:
The 6 clubs are rebranded along the lines of Walkers Chargers or Maltesers Warriors to play in the ESL.. These teams don't play in the EPL and are effectively like the Harlem Globetrotters going out each week to play in a showpiece event that isn't really even a competition.

Back home they have a second team called Tottenham Hotspurs or Manchester Utd with their 2nd team (a different set of contracted players) playing in the EPL as before.

This is the future I see coming.

What times this supposed PL meeting? Really hoping they go in hard and expluse them. Anything else would be unacceptable other than regelation to the 5th+ division with a transfer embargo and -15 point deduction each starting the first season.

Seeing the RS playing Tuebrook Raiders in the Blue Square Conference would be funny mind.

The only snag is that kicking them out now makes it hard to calculate the 'results' of the remaining games to be played.

Id rather not allow them to participate with immediate effect

Very tricky.

If give them a 100pt penalty each and a 5 year european ban.

Then they are relegated with no european games and 100% reliant on domestic football.

You would soon see a new 'big six' emerge in those 5 seasons.
Yeah a points deduction is the most sensible option and finish theseason.

It’s such obvious BS.

Right, so you did all this plotting and planning, and you DIDN’T ASK two of the best 5 teams in the world, the finalists of last year’s CL. One of them you didn’t even speak to?

Story checks out

They might not have - sorry for repeating myself, but there’s nothing in the SL to say this is a European only project.

The other three founder teams could easily be from elsewhere, as could the five qualifiers (as in the Champions of Asia, Africa, South America, North America plus Europe).

In fact it’s really telling how many commentators are calling this the European Super League when that is not its name.

The rather sad thing that you don't see is that this will be the end of Liverpool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea, City, and Spurs. Sure, the brand names will continue but the core, the heart, and nature of these clubs will be gone.

It's been gone for a while now.

It's easy enough to point to the exact moment Arsenal, City and Chelsea lost their souls.

I don't know enough about the history to say if LFC ever had one, or if Hillsborough damaged them beyond repair, or if it was the first lot of Americans or the present one that's responsible.

I think that United sold out in the latter portion of SAF's reign to keep up, and that coping with that is why his nose is red.

I'm not sure what happened to Spurs, to be honest.
