Champions League revamp

It’s such obvious BS.

Right, so you did all this plotting and planning, and you DIDN’T ASK two of the best 5 teams in the world, the finalists of last year’s CL. One of them you didn’t even speak to?

Story checks out

maybe he never asked PSG as he is looking to take their best players. Just a thought.

I think this Government led fan review that’s been announced will do the trick.
No, really, it’s just what’s needed to reset the game and ensure our clubs are owned by decent, law abiding folk with the best interests of the game and the fans at heart. I have every confidence that their far reaching recommendations delivered firmly and quickly will make absolutely feck all difference to the Scab 6 and their hypocritical customers.
Elitist and cronyism government is going to have root and branch look in to an ever developing elitist and crony grouping. All is well with the world.

So whats the story. This is legally binding and they have to do the super league? And now its up to the prem to have balls to kick them out of our league now? Is that where we are at?

What times this supposed PL meeting? Really hoping they go in hard and expluse them. Anything else would be unacceptable other than regelation to the 5th+ division with a transfer embargo and -15 point deduction each starting the first season.

Seeing the RS playing Tuebrook Raiders in the Blue Square Conference would be funny mind.

They will be desperate to keep them in the Premier League.

They will put a strongly worded statement but behind the scenes they will be doing something to keep them happy.

Foreign tv deal will be altered to favour the so called big clubs so they get a bigger cut of the proceeds.

No one will be “expulsed” and the Conference hasn’t been sponsored by Blue Square for some years now.

They might not have - sorry for repeating myself, but there’s nothing in the SL to say this is a European only project.

The other three founder teams could easily be from elsewhere, as could the five qualifiers (as in the Champions of Asia, Africa, South America, North America plus Europe).

In fact it’s really telling how many commentators are calling this the European Super League when that is not its name.

Well the official name is European Super League Company. So legally, it's in the name.

This entire situation is so frustrating. European big clubs are absolutely skint, seeing the PL and wanting in on the action. That's the reason these clubs want this. The American owners have seen this as an opportunity to force their franchise system in, and the other PL clubs are just stupid and following along for fear of missing out.

It's Man City which I'm really trying to understand. They've invested in communities around the world and built an empire. They have no need for money or the financial stability...I think if this all falls through it's going to be City who are the weak link.

It's been gone for a while now.

It's easy enough to point to the exact moment Arsenal, City and Chelsea lost their souls.

I don't know enough about the history to say if LFC ever had one, or if Hillsborough damaged them beyond repair, or if it was the first lot of Americans or the present one that's responsible.

I think that United sold out in the latter portion of SAF's reign to keep up, and that coping with that is why his nose is red.

I'm not sure what happened to Spurs, to be honest.
Spurs have been about commercial success rather than trophies for a long time. Levy obviously saw which way the wind was blowing and got on board.

These 6 will face crowd hostility like we’ve never seen when they turn up at PL away grounds next season.
I understand the calls for the ESL to be stopped, but I want it to play out and sit back and watch the resulting mess.

I'm worried.

I can see us time warping back to the 80's.

I can see grown men being stirred by the old emotions of their teens and twenties doing things they'd otherwise never dream of doing today.

I'm worried that it will happen sooner than next season. I'm worried that we'll lose the moral high ground if it does happen.

I'm worried that some loaded Toon Army goon will do a lot more than punch a police horse.

I'm not sure what the proper response is, but I'm worried that if we don't do something, and fast, we won't be laughing.
