Champions League revamp

If you think UEFA are banning City from the CL after patting them on the back and welcoming them back, then I dunno what to say mate.

I think there will be an appetite to punish somebody, but then if you punish 1, you have to punish them all and I'm not sure theres an appetite from UEFA and I think The Premier League consider it an attack on UEFA rather than themselves. But we will see which way the wind blows in the next few days.

As I've said though, we shouldn't rest on our hands thinking we have won, we, somebody, needs to make sure nothing like this can ever happen again, by using the law.

Was reading on Bluemoon that maybe City was a double agent sent in by UEFA to get intel, it did make me chuckle.

I didn't say they'd actually do it.

Also a ban for next seasons CL but allowing them to continue to finish out this trophy where they're already at the semi-final stage seems benevolent.

Nothing to see here. Move along, carry on people. ESL? What's that - I don't remember any of that. Now let's see how the biggest clubs in England AND Tottenham can have a clear run at Europe without worrying about not qualifying in case their revenues are hurt shall we.

I mean we pretty much have it in writing that this is only gone until they find a way around the rules. I doubt that everything goes back to normal without consequences and changes.

They also know now what we could do it they formed the superleague, we have shown our hand in what punishments we could dish out such as high tax, kicked out of the league, ban from international football, etc

This statement from the AC Milan fans is pretty superb you know. If you can be arsed reading it.

“The thing that most leaves us indignant is the hypocrisy of all those who contributed to making this sport nothing but a business, those who today stand up in name of the fans, but only because they saw their remunerative and seemingly untouchable project fall apart.

Football did belong to the people until the 1990s, when the Champions League was born, destroying the old European Cup. From that moment, an unbreachable chasm has been created between the big and small clubs.

Football did belong to the people even when nobody lifted a finger to stop the increase of ticket prices that was imposed by some Presidents.

Football did belong to the people even when nobody stepped in to stop the rise of the super agents, who took player salaries to ever more astronomical figures, which could only be sustained with TV rights, the same TV companies that imposed increasingly chaotic fixture lists, with games on improbable days and kick-off times.

Football did belong to the people even when rules were imposed to stop any rapport between the players and the fans.

Football did belong to the people even when Supercoppa Finals were played on other continents or the dates of some games were changed a few days before kick-off, damaging those fans who had booked trains or planes to get to the stadium.

Football did belong to the people even when some clubs were allowed to circumvent Financial Fair Play, while others with less influential Presidents were penalised.

Football did belong to the people even when the World Cup was forced to Qatar in 2022, despite moving the entire calendar and disregarding human rights violations.

We could list numerous other examples to show the absolute hypocrisy of the words we’re hearing from the football chiefs over the last 48 hours.

The Super League is just the latest disgusting step, but those who took football to this point are no less grotesque, so save us these ludicrous performances of rhetoric and morality.

Now that the money is running out, feel free to fight it out between yourselves, but don’t you dare name the fans. PIGS!”

Spot on that. It's only a postponement of the plans for them. They will look at every possible way to work within and around the rules to make it happen. Without some severe consequences for them now, they'll just keep breeding on this plan.

Straight ban from the EPL and EFL. Reform governance in both and in UEFA and allow clubs back in only when they have new owners that have been approved as part of the new governance. No relegation from EPL this season and three come up leaving a 17 team EPL and 21 team Championship. First three reformed are allowed back into EPL and last three into Championship.

It's one of them. Punish them too hard and eventually the super League will happen in another shape or form in a few years time.
I think a £10 million fine each to be divided out to league 1&2 teams.
12 month transfer ban so they can't rebuild and compete for a year.
