The media are absolute jokers in all of this. They loved the story because it was controversial and they went hard on it. As soon as the tide started to turn and it became obvious things were going to remain the same, they reverted to their usual love in of the so called Big Six.
As far as I am concerned, Sky and other broadcasters are to blame for this egotistical view that those clubs have of themselves. Sky built them up and built them up over the years. In some cases like Tottenham, it isnt actually based on results but instead based on having a manager they all loved and playing a decent style (pre-Mourinho).
Sky need to have a good hard look at themselves and ask themselves, are they a channel dedicated to football or a small slice of football that is deemed to be the biggest profile by their own spin.
I think the PL needs to go hard against these clubs, change voting rules, refuse to give them TV money for 2.3 years (10% of the contract they signed up to with ESL) and give that money to lower league teams which could not come at a better time for them.
As for Sky, they should come out with other broadcasters and refuse to show any of the big six's game until the end of the season. Even though that would mean I didn't see Everton play certain games, I'd be happy to miss it because of the message it sends.
