Champions League revamp

Those reforms to the CL format (though not the financing) were in the works for a while. If Cefelli was in on it from the start, he's a phenomenal actor. Not saying it's impossible, but it's a truly impressive and corrupt job of it if he was.

The venue where I would confront the gang of six would be the Prem meetings, where we're the de facto leader of the remaining 14, rather than UEFA where we are, as you say, a small voice. I'd just make sure that my message leaked in a way that Cefelli would hear, and form my judgments about what's going on at UEFA based upon his actions.

To be honest some of his speeches were like something from a Bond film seemed all very scripted and something very dodgy about it.

They’ve tried to pull the wool over everyone’s eyes. Made a mockery of the game to get themselves even more money. They’re all as evil and greedy as each other. Rats.

However I disagree with your assertion that punishment would be counterproductive. I think punishment would help draw a line under this whole process, and allow us to move on.

I didn't assert that, but I can very much see how you read that between the lines, so I'll address it.

The advantage to not punishing them is that you can wring greater concessions with respect to future behavior out of them, which enhances the value of the deterrent threat. The disadvantages are that, to be candid, it looks bad and that it doesn't do anything to establish your willingness to hit back in unforeseen circumstances that the deal doesn't cover.

So by not punishing them, you gain greater potency with respect to the specific concerns at the expense of the general. Which is more desirable is a case-by-case question.

I'm very sorry about your personal story. That sort of thing seems to be increasingly common these days, though perhaps that's just better media coverage and ability to get one's own personal story out there.

Its staggering when you look at the numbers involved because take away the hype and football can be pretty boring. How many so called top billed games turn out to be a damp squid.
Built up by TV and media to something that rarely materializes. Most of your money paid is for hype.

I truly hope the likes of PSG and the Bayern boys force UEFA to actually punish the scabs because at the moment they are just bending over .
If nothing comes of this , it's really not fair on the likes of smaller clubs who have had to deal with point reductions , forced relegations crippling embargoes and fines . Things that weren't the fans fault but happened anyway with owners walking free with a bankruptcy get out of jail free card .

UEFA and the scum clubs have certainly played a blinder these last couple of days, distract everyone with a terrible idea that keeps the rich clubs rich and let the fans kick off, back down so the fans think they won but while it was all going on pass a terrible idea that keeps the rich clubs rich and watch the fans lap it up haha

Are we saying this was planned all along or uefa have give them what they want due to them leaving

There's no conspiracy with UEFA. If UEFA wanted to give them everything they would have done so.

It went too far and with too much damage to reputation of clubs and their brand for that to have been the case.

UEFA might want to have that lot in the tent pissing out, but they have those clubs by the short and curlies now. They'll see no more challenges to their power from them for a generation. The clubs in question are damaged severely by what's happened. Football is damaged by it.

There is no way "it's all been a scam". That proposition is for the birds.

I'm not surprised to see Sky move on to defending the clubs given the people they employ, but if they're smart about this whole thing on a corporate level they must see they were pushed aside by these clubs too, they were all willing to rip Sky's contract up and move to another league which was rumoured to already have had broadcast rights sold to someone else. It would be far more beneficial for Sky to build up the other 14 clubs moving forward and simply move away from this whole "big 6" branding they love so much, it does nothing to help the league overall.
