Champions League revamp

Can’t believe people are saying any punishment would only punish the fans and should only target the owners.

Well you can’t punish the owners unless you punish the club and by extension the fan base like when a team goes into administration and gets docked points. There the fans are also being punished but no one bats an eye lid.

This is the second attempt at a coup starting with project big picture and now this must warrant a points deduction at the very least or a two year European ban.
Now you see the likes of sourness and carragher saying don’t punish the fans like kopites are more innocent then fans of over clubs who have been punished, typical kopite rat behaviour.

needs to be a strong punishment to stop these joke owners from trying to pull another stunt like that again

Modern days 'fans' are part of the problem, as much as many don't like to admit. The big clubs, as well as several other premier league clubs (including us), have become infested with a section of fans who just don't understand that losing is part of the sport. Just look at how Manchester United fans have reacted to their fall from grace, and all that's happened is that they have gone from major trophies to minor trophies and first place to top 4.

Gary Neville, who has to be commended for his efforts in the last two days, is till the same bloke who thought that it was incredulous that Everton beat United 4-0 a few seasons ago, as if that was some kind of crime against football. We have reached a point where, because of money, media ego and cultural entitlement, football has just completely lost itself.

No club has a divine right to be at the top. Yes, the fans of the 6 clubs were probably the driving force in getting the Super League canned, but I wonder what their reaction will be if measures are brought in to make the domestic game a fairer competition? I think by judging these 'punish the owners, not the team' comments, we know exactly how they'll take it.

Should have got one of their players to bite an opponent , they'd have jumped at putting them t-shirts on.
Speaking of t-shirts i hope they're being worn tonight and for the next few weeks be interesting to see if the six teams wear them especially that lot after the cry arsing against leeds.

that's utter bollocks by the way. Burnley FC have invested loads into grass roots and community. They have also invested in new housing developments, new sporting facilities etc

Stop chatting crap about something you have no clue about

They have - but they have also just been taken over by a hedge fund, which has saddled the club with debt because there model is unsustainable, despite being in the PL for 10 odd years now

Can someone who genuinely believes "don't punish the fans" actually tell me what punishment the fans are getting?

If a club is banned from a competition because of what THEIR OWN club did, the club gets punished. Players still play in other competitions, fans still watch, albeit at a lower standard if relegated.

If players were banned from watching them on TV or online, that punishes fans

If thrown in jail, that's a punishment

Fine everyone who bought merch on the website hundred quid. That's a punishment.

Owners get punished
Fans get a mild annoyance
