Champions League revamp

I'm as worried as most sane people that they'll go unpunished. However part of me believes that something will have to be done to appease angry owners like Farhad
It’s not only the owners it’s the fans that need to be appeased
These clubs nearly changed the face of football in Europe , a game we all have a lifetime of emotional and financial involvement in
They tried to destroy something that is a large part of the fabric of our lives
They have to be reminded of what they have tried to do and they have to given due notice of the consequences if they try to do it again
Putting them on the naughty step won’t help
They need to be hit where it hurts
In their pockets , in their involvement in Europe for 1 if not 2 seasons
They need point deductions and transfer bans
Have no doubt in your mind if we appease the Sly Six and slap them on the wrist they will try it again
Media saying this will hurt the fans
The same fans who whelped in delight when transfer records were broken , when players were paid 300k a week , when teams flew to America and China for pre season to get more money
The same fans who watched their clubs try and put the PL over a barrel with the big Picture project
These fans got into bed with the devils and revelled in all the goodies they were given
They sold their souls to corporate greed and now it’s time to pay the price.
You took the gain now feel the pain
@PaulPowersTash and all the lurkers
And @Yid4life

Going to be difficult for the owners of the other 14. Got to read the room - do nothing and your own fanbases might turn against you.
Yeah, I might be alone in thinking this, but it seems like Sky were slow on the pick up of how angry the fans are.

The notion of punishing the returning six is gathering momentum in the mainstream media and needs to be kept on the agenda.

No way
The anger of the 14 and the fans will not allow
Any true fan of the Sly Six ( you included ) should hope their club is heavily punished to prevent the owners doing it again

I hope you're right - I genuinely do; but I'm not sure you have read the room on the anger of the 14, 10 plus of them will only care about the TV rights being as big as possible and that is their sole priority, transfer bans; removal of these teams from Broadcast, points deductions or European bans devalue the "product" and that will ultimitely be the key decision driver.

If I was betting on the "punishment"; I would guess there will be some form of fine to be redistributed & a severe rule change and fixed punishments in the even it happens again

Uefa is set to be hit with a concerted campaign to drop its plan for two Champions League places awarded on the basis of historical performances in Europe.
The collapse of the Super League has led to a power shift away from Europe’s elite clubs and now the European Leagues and figures in the European Club Association — which is now without any representatives from the 12 clubs who joined the Super League — are poised to launch an effort to change the access system planned for 2024.
This is the absolute minimum that should happen, but I don't think it will. At the end of all of this the Scum 6 will be in a better position than they were a week ago, with additional protections in place for their continuous admission to the Champions League.

Absolutely things can be done better. The money spent on players and agents is obscene for a start.

Let's look at Burnley, for example. It's a town that's pretty poor. It's a town that loves it's football and it's club. Burnley have been living the 'dream' over the last few years, raking in hundreds of millions.

Where has this money gone? Has it rejuvenated their facilities and helped their town become a better place? Has it heck. It's gone into the pockets of players and agents, mainly.

A rule forcing Premer League clubs to spend x% annually on community and/or infrastructure development would be great imo. Not a token gesture, make it 25% of tv money.

Wage cap - you can pay players whatever you want, but it cannot exceed 75% of tv revenue. We all know that the more you're on tv, the more money you get, so the kopites, for example, would still be operating on a 'bigger' level than Southampton, for instance. This allows the owners, to have their noses in the trough also, as merchandise and matchday revenue is basically theirs.

There's many, many ways the game can get better, but that's not what these people want.

that's utter bollocks by the way. Burnley FC have invested loads into grass roots and community. They have also invested in new housing developments, new sporting facilities etc

Stop chatting crap about something you have no clue about

I hope you're right - I genuinely do; but I'm not sure you have read the room on the anger of the 14, 10 plus of them will only care about the TV rights being as big as possible and that is their sole priority.
I think the clubs have read the room better than you have
Fans want these punished
Even true football fans of the Sly six realise they have to be punished to protect the game
Short term pain for long term gain
Every official supporters club of the Sly Six have condemned the move and will have no problem with them being punished and I doubt the clubs involved will fight back against the punishment as they know they were wrong , they admitted it and will take their medicine to show true remorse
