Champions League revamp

Honestly Sunday to Tuesday was the most excited I've felt about football for a long time.

I thought one way or another we'd have a more competitive Premier League.

It just feels back to the same old same old now. Unless they are punished for trying to take over football they've won.

Other Clubs might survive in the short term but eventually they'll be eaten up or have to amalgamate with rivals to become North West Athletic or Midlands Warriors. And still be fodder.

Depressingly accurate.

Teams were fuming because it affected their best interests, the less than shocking thought is that their interest was money.

Fans don't matter, well, unless its how much you can extort them for.

Premier League clubs have never, had a better chance to stick it to the big clubs and they're "divided", it's happening.

It happened in Rugby League, Huddersfield and Sheffield Merged, etc... and it was horrible. But mark my words, we'll all conform into their ways, sadly.

My thoughts were the same. I was thinking rangers / Celtic / champions league and all sorts. Biggest concern was the ground and continued investment.

Ah well, back to normal for now. These people will get their way, eventually. They always do.

Yeah it's grim mate to be honest. It was the same with Null and void and restart, from top of the league to bottom of the league every club looked after themselves and not the greater good.

Sadly it will be same here, there will be no bans, no point deductions, no removal of the 6 off the TV and no European ban from UEFA

UEFA, the 14 (or at least 10 of them) , the PL and the broadcasters will all put their required profits ahead of a moral or a long term view for the greater good.

I keep thinking back to the fact it was created by working class people, for the working class and everyone was included. Now it's a billionaires playground, a way to get richer, whilst the poor get poorer.

There needs to be a ban, they need to throw it down, but instead of showing authority, they're rolling over and bowing to demands, but when the time comes, and the dust has settled, UEFA and the big teams, are jumping into bed and finding way to line their pockets even deeper than ever.

Load of crap being spoken in that interview.

Have sympathy for Chelsea? Koff!!!

The other fella saying what about the fans it’s not their fault? When clubs get deducted points for going into admin it’s not the fans fault either. As a club if you break rules you get punished.

That Kaveh then saying “You don’t really want to start messing around with the points now” Why the frig not?!?!

When you think about it, it will be an absolutely amazing situation that in next season’s European competition the premier league will be saying ‘here you are Uefa, here’s the best of English football that we want to represent our league on the European stage. I know they’re the same lot that tried to shaft both of our competitions not that long ago and probably will try to again but we feel they deserve European competition and all the money that goes with it’

Gonna be a damp squid isn’t it. All bluster but soon back to normal and the scab 6 will get stuff through by stealth. We’ll all piss the bed as usual
Right, now I know there are far more pressing matters but I do feel something needs to be said; it is the second time I have seen this "damp squid" phrase used in this thread and it needs to be stopped before it spirals out of control.

Of course squids are damp, they live in the ocean. The idiom you require is damp squib.

Dock them all 12 points from start of next season. It would make for the most exciting league campaign ever.
No need to fine them, just dock them all 40 points each so that three are guaranteed to be relegated.
It will be interested to see how they cosy up to each other once the reality of relegation sets it (they would be at each others throats rather than making deals in closed rooms). It would make next season really interesting and, the following season the 20 premier league teams can reset the voting mechanism whereby a 75% majority is needed so that these 6 clubs could always veto any changes that don't suit their agenda.

There's no conspiracy with UEFA. If UEFA wanted to give them everything they would have done so.

It went too far and with too much damage to reputation of clubs and their brand for that to have been the case.

UEFA might want to have that lot in the tent pissing out, but they have those clubs by the short and curlies now. They'll see no more challenges to their power from them for a generation. The clubs in question are damaged severely by what's happened. Football is damaged by it.

There is no way "it's all been a scam". That proposition is for the birds.
Agree it was deffinantely not a scam.
But cant agree Eufa have them by the short & curly's .Them clubs couldnt give a gnats chuff , they will do it again if (& when) the opportunity cames along.

Unless there are sanctions & insurances in place it will happen.
