Champions League revamp

If they can just skip it and replace that revenue selling super league friendlies then they will.
In a 3 team competition?

There’s plenty of mileage left in this mess yet, but as of now, it looks like a miscalculation on the part of the holdout trio to me.

They obviously want this to go to the courts. So we’ll see what happens there. But in the meantime, they are presumably going to get banned from UEFA competition - and that will hit them hard in the pocket.

No they could easily attract other clubs to participate in friendlies and make money selling youtube streams for it to plazzies.

I've not a doubt in my mind that they will come out of this stinking of roses and with no UEFA ban. Uefa have shown how spineless they are with the other 9. I expect them to roll over for these 3 too.

When will they play these friendlies? It’s not going to happen.

UEFA haven't done this to stop a future super league. They have done it to earn a bigger slice of the pie. The 12 do this again, and UEFA make €1.2b in fines.

That's why the remaing 3 are so vehemently against it.

It's about money. Always was, and always will be.

Which, let's be honest, is a drop in the bucket for what they could potentially earn. The fact the PL Doesn't seem to have any desire to sanction them is just so depressing.

Against the teams that are still in the CL?

If these types of friendlies were profitable enough, they’d happen already.
Nope. They could make a load playing Shanghai or Singapore.

Or an MLS team. Mexicans, Brazilians. Plenty of Madrid and Barca plastics around the world for it to work.

They don't have the space in the schedule for them now and they are profitable hence the preseason tournaments they do now.

If that was the case, they’d drop out of the Champions League tomorrow.

There’s no money in that.

Competition to be the best is the draw. Not friendly matches.

I'm not trying to be controversial, but they haven't actually broken any rules. Wednesday broke rules, hence the points deduction. The Premier League need to change the rules so it doesn't happen again, but I can't see what they can do this time.

Spineless, this will just encourage the rat pack to do this again after that slap on the wrist. Is it next year or the one after that when the disgusting co - efficient fiddle gets brought in, the one where they qualify no matter what happens, the get out of jail free card ? They could have at least closed that avenue, Would love Everton to rip apart FFP next transfer window and give them a taste of their own medicine, but you just know all football authorities would suddenly find their spine again, for the " good of football".
