Vardy missing will be massive for us.

But, we struggle when odds are stacked in our favour, and they'll be having someone - probably Iheanacho - desperate to impress. Vardy being out does not make it easier for us.
100% stacked in their favour, not ours, we've got Allan and Doucoure out, so it's a 3-0 win to us! lol

Vardy loves scoring against us so they’ll miss him and we’ll have a strong side out. Champions inbound.

On the face of it he seems to have turned things around...right behind us (though we have 3 games in hand).

However, if you look at their fixtures from now till end of Feb they have some really tough games.

I put this in the 'Arteta' thread about arsenal.

In fact, the current top 4 in City, United, Leicester and West Ham actually have a favourable run of games until end of Feb.

Ours are a bit more tricky and if we can pick up 4 wins and a draw (13pts) we'll be right up there.

Having looked at the games til the end of feb, the only team that has a marginally better run than us is United. They have Europe and still play arsenal, Southampton, us and Chelsea (plus West Ham in the cup).

Weve got United, Liverpool and Leicester as well as Leeds, Newcastle and Fulham.

Id have to look at the fixtures again but that doesnt look like a good run to me. As Ancelotti said, by the end of the newcastle game we'll have more of an idea of where we are and where were going :)

Leicester have us, villa, arsenal and liverpool. Plus Europe.

I wouldn’t say ours was massively harder.

On paper every team has a tough run in but usually it doesn’t always work like that. We just need to take each game as it comes. I’m confident Ancelotti can set us up to get the best out of our squad each game. Our only concern should be picking up injuries to key players.

Loving the confidence here in advance of two home games but what has bitter experience taught us when opportunity presents?
Yeah, every chance we lose tonight and contrive to keep Steve Bruce on life support at the weekend.

Tonight is huge. I accept that things will ebb and flow in a tight table, but this is a real chance for us to, if not cement our place among the frontrunners, well, get the trowel out and start laying bricks. I have maintained a relatively downbeat opinion that we'll finish 9th. Lose tonight and that looks a little more likely than a top four finish. This week we need to make a decisive move. United and City have. Other contenders are gathering. If the likes of West Ham can string six wins together, well, we need to rise to the challenge and stop giving ourselves a bit of an out by saying games like tonight are not hugely significant. It's a chance to not only collect three points - but to damage a direct rival. We'll learn loads this week.
