Unfortunately I can't see us getting anything from Utd, City or the Rs. Really hope I'm wrong like.

The way we setup i think we'll get 3pts from one of them and beat fulham.

winning a cup is a LOT better than qualifying for the champions league

no doubt about it at all

We play for trophies... all the champions league does is give us the exposure and cash to purchase better players in the hope of winning a trophy
I’ll take the trophy now than continue to live in hope

Win the FA Cup and its good for the players and fans.

Get in the champions league and its good for the players, fans, clun and attracting players.

The champions league takes us up a level as a club...once we attain that level we can consistently compete for trophies, not only a one off cup.

Would be my rebuttal too.. and could argue we need the CL to have a chance to win the league...

But coming 3rd or 4th is no guarantee to qualifying and say we do.. it’s no guarantee of winning anything, ask Spurs. We don’t say how long it’s been since we won the league.. we always refer to 1995 as the last trophy...

There is no right or wrong as it’s a personal choice but for me qualifying to play in another tournament we would never win right now doesn’t come close to the joy I remember feeling the last time we won the FA cup.

Villa Arsenal will be an interesting game today.

A villa win puts us 5pts ahead of arsenal with 3 games in hand. Not so fussed about Villa myself, id like to see Arsenal dead and buried...

100%.. AV sustaining has never worried me and I feel west ham will have a slide too soon... Chelsea are worrying me a lot .. it’s always the same names at the top by the end no matter how badly they seem to play at times during the season. Arsenal need to be a non event

Spending enough hasn't been our problem over the past few years. Champions league not gonna change it that much. ill take a trophy.

Agreed, a draw would be good also. The more those two and West Ham drop points the more we consolidate a position in the top 7 which means we end the season with Europe. Chelsea are looking better, and so are Arsenal so the challenge is for us to finish a head of one of the big 6 or Leicester to finish in Europe. I’m hoping that Arsenal are either too far behind, or Spurs completely implode. I can see City United Chelsea Liverpool Leicester being comfortably in there.

Id say anyone from 10th (Arsenal) and up could go on a run and hit 4th.

If Villa win against arsenal then i think arsenal are out of the top 4 chase.

Also, if Spurs lose/draw with West Brom and we beat united i think their top 4 hopes would be hanging by a thread.

As much as I’d love to think we could get top 4 I just can’t see it. We tend to lose crucial games when we have the opportunity to grasp it. That combined with our poor home record might just see us edged out unless something changes. This season is all about getting back in Europe for me. Don’t want us to be pushing for the top 4 all season then somehow end up in 8th because Arsenal came from nowhere. The sooner that we can guarantee a top 7 finish the better then we can see in the run in if we’re still in a position to challenge for the top 4. This is far more exciting though than wondering if a new manager can get us out of relegation trouble again.

To achieve the magical 20 wins...

If Arsenal lose they need 11 wins from 15 games. Never happening...

We currently need 9 wins from 18 games.

Neck on the line a bit i suppose but i think if we win today, and Arsenal lose then....I think we'll finish well above them.

Also i think if we win today and go on to beat Fulham then we'd need 7 wins from 16 games and i think we'll achieve that amount.

Big game for us today, id actually take a point

While it's still possible I want the double. My first choice after that is win the league. If we can't do that I would rather finish top 4 than win the cup. However I wouldn't turn my nose up at cup success I just feel getting in Champions League could be massive.

I think a few things need to happen for Champions League.

Obviously need 70 points. We’d be lucky to get in without given we are the ones trying to break the top 4 monopoly.

We’d have to win at least 10 games to do it. Seems tough imo so hopefully we can go on a run of 6 or 7 wins straight to make it easier.

Finally I think it’ll be Man City, Man U top 2. Leicester look like they’re going to get there. So does that mean Liverpool won’t make it? (They’ll have to find another way to get them in) Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal could possibly not make it.
Not sure why your assuming Man U will finish 2nd. Out of the current top 4 I think they are most likely to have a poor enough patch to drop out. I also think we have every chance of finishing above Leicester, remember both of them have Thursday/Sunday footie to start again. I’d love to think we could finish above the RS but in reality their fixtures in the last third of the season are very favourable, they will probably win 9 on the spin, let’s just pray it’s too late for the league.
It’s all about what we do. If we get 10 wins from 19 and no more than 3 losses from now, it is very much realistic. All the teams above us apart from City at the mo look like getting terrible results. Anything is possible

Dunno lingard looked hungry and dangerous, could be an inspired signing for them. Cmon king you fraud (joke)

I was in the same boat as you about Man U. Thought they had no team strategy or chemistry. But theyre actually doing well and it’s mostly because they just throw their most athletic players on, pretty simple game plan so I see them keep winning.

I think Liverpool will find it hard to back up 2 years at the top. They should have won it the year before as well, so to win 3 in a row (effectively speaking) is a mammoth physical task playing the way they have.
