Just imagine the queues inside GP if this was to happen. George Orwell 's crimethink is alive and well.

Colleague at work has just said "Charlton are lucky to have even one fan"

This is absolutely, thoroughly disgusting and I hope the club is dragged all over the coals for this

Hi All,

I have joined GOT for a bit of fun, but also because I am really worried about the future of my club.
Some of you may be aware of our situation, but if not I will give you a quick outline.

In January 2014 we were bought by a Belgian entrepreneur. Initially things looked good but after chopping and changing managers several times the team and club are in a real state now. The owners are unwilling to spend money on a manager with championship experience or back them up. The owners have put a supposed chairwoman in place who has very little idea how to run a football club and has a shocking attitude to the concerns of fans. We've got no chief scout or director of football, an interim manager who we'd already sacked as assistant manager once. The only players we've brought in are from the network of clubs also under our owners control who are all rotten, so have had to play our raw youth talent who are not yet ready for Championship football.
Katie Mere our chief executive has stated we will be developing the youth players then selling them on as a business model. We think this approach is damaging our academy players and the club is rooted to bottom of the league and relegation looks a certainty.

Like Everton, Charlton is very much a community club with a long history of serving local fans, but our future under this regime looks bleak.

Today we have organised our biggest protest yet to start before the game at 2.30 and afterwards at half five. The hope is that the owner and executives will get the message that the fans want our club back!

Nick Miller's article today gives an overview of how the owner is ruining the club

and this is another really good article https://medium.com/@ https://medium.com/@darryl1974/how-roland-duchâtelet-and-katrien-meire-are-killing-charlton-athletic-dc8a9ed7e91c#.j1kebfxkv

Lots of fans from other clubs and footballers are behind us, so I hope you don't mind me coming on here and moaning but Ste said you're a good bunch and we need all the support we can get. If you want to follow what's happening you can search on twitter for #WeWantOurClubBack

Thanks Toffees and good luck for the rest of the season!

Been keeping an eye on the sitiuation a bit re that guy who had to sign a contract for his season ticket which is shocking
What was the club like before the takeover? Dont think tryna play moneyball is that good an idea in league one cause youll get buttons for good players
Blast from the past seeing your badge like

Welcome to GoT

Don't understand why you'd invest in football clubs if you have no interest in running one - belgians all seem to have a real stroppy attitude nowadays

Charlton Athletic: Fan told not to criticise club or lose season ticket

It really depends on the nature of 'criticism'.

Someone criticising the running of the club (team and/or financial) if this was the case would have their human rights being infringed.

https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/en/human-rights-act/article-10-freedom-expression

If theres 'abuse' thats a slightly different manner.

Its one reason that I have no time for Blue Union.

They do not criticise without falling into the other category.

However, if Everton ever tried to deny anyone's ability to criticise (@davek - I respect his right to criticise for example) there would be absolute uproar within the fanbase.

Censorship is not legally permissible.
