2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

That's a fair shout, but I don't think he's worth £160k a week.

He'll go down as an icon for his goal vs Bournemouth, but I don't think we should renew at £160k a week.

I;m not saying we should renew. But he's a better bet as starter to Alcaraz at the moment. Nothing against him btw.

I'm not quite sure talisman is the word I'd use to describe Doucoure, but at least since Richarlison was sold, he's the closest we've had to a talisman. Often when he plays well, we get a result, and he has a nack of getting a goal in important games for us. I'm hoping he'll accept reduced terms and sign a 1 year deal, there will be a big squad churn in the summer, so keeping a few dependable figures will be key.

That said, what I really like with Alcaraz is that we have a different option as a number 10. Better passer, dribbler and striker of the ball and think he'd do well with Ndiaye, McNeil and hopefully in the future some more attacking fullbacks on the overlap. Based on what we've seen so far, I'd take him for 15 mil.
