2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

People dont appreciate the amount of work he gets through: blocking passing lanes for opponents and popping up in midfield and attack doubling up with other blue shirts to win the second balls etc. He also can be counted on to grab a goal or two.

He's not great, but Alcaraz doesn't put the shift in Doucoure does.

That's a fair shout, but I don't think he's worth £160k a week.

He'll go down as an icon for his goal vs Bournemouth, but I don't think we should renew at £160k a week.

At 15m this is a no brainer of an acquisition. Sure Moyes can also target a higher level - we will need to with the number of people out if contract, but it should not exclude us getting this very decent young togger player.
I disagree - I’d rather get a loan in as a filler and sign someone for £30m than sign a few players that aren’t quite good enough

Happy to be proven wrong but I’m not sold on Alcaraz yet

We have been down that track before and look at what happened. To sign a £30m player you have to be absolutely certain. Alcarez has all the potential to be worth a great deal in the future and with an outlay of £15m I can honestly say we will have a bargain and if didn't work out for us would make us break even minimum but more than likely a decent profit.........no brainer for me especially with a number of players out of contract

NGL, I didn't think he was anything of note when he was at Southampton, but he has something we don't have. He plays at a much faster tempo with his passing, than other players which opens up attacking opportunities.

flamengo owner mouthing off again

saying that if everton don’t trigger the starts clause for 15mil euro then we’ll have competition

he’s probably just trying to ensure we do it, however I really don’t see the point in us haggling over a couple of million euro to risk losing him

get him starting, doucoure is going and we are safe so theres no point in starting him. get him some game time and see what he’s at. we will make a profit on him regardless

can’t dither on this, 15mil euro (£12.6m!!!) is an absolute steal and we would be fools to haggle imo. just get him signed

I agree. Considering some of the fees we have paid for garbage players, £12m is basically a win win because even if he doesn’t succeed, for PSR purposes it is a couple mill a year and you would likely recoup all of that by selling him.

The question is, is he better than what we have? Yes, considerably.

Can we get better than him for the same price? Based off what I have seen so far of him, I sincerely doubt it.

You can’t really lose for 15m

If he turns out to be a bang average prem midfielder he will be worth 20-30m

No brainer for me too

12 million is squad player money, at the very least he is that.
