Tonight we didn't look too much different to games last season.
Stones and Jags at the back were great.
Oviedo too.
Hazard is a cheating cnut. He bought 2 yellows for us tonight.
thats what he does - like Robben.
If he didn't do it people would kick hell out of him.

Howard played well for the most part, seemed to play with a certain swagger although I can't decide if he was at fault for the goal. At first I thought he should have saved it but I'm not sure. Just didn't seem like a particularly powerful shot, seemed to go in in slow motion.

Wow, a picture paints a thousand words.

Yep. Goes to show that we CAN defend as a team.

As for Barkley...his confidence is gone.

The lad that asked for the ball every second isn't there anymore. He doesn't want the ball.

He looks like one of them players similar to Ozil for example. When its right, its great. When its not, they aren't doing much.
I hate to say but I also think it's also because the players around him aren't very good.

people do kick the hell out of him haha. can't really argue with many of our yellows today. apart from mccarthy's, where that came from i don't know.

Normally I would agree. But apart from the Xmas/New Year period, we have been very good apart from a rickety defence at the beginning. I also appreciate that we are a little defensive at the moment but that is clever tactics imo (to get confidence back). Attacking-wise, I think we are good as any team in the league and it was only brilliant keeping from Czech that denied us a deserved victory over the so-called best team in England. I think nobody in the Chelsea dressing room after our match thinks that anymore.

We have 13 games to go. I see us winning 11 of those and drawing 2. So, we will end on 62 points. And for the true 'transition year', that's pretty darn good.

Next year I would expect us to be challenging for the very top (and if we can keep the nucleus of this years squad, I think that is not an outlandish call)

Are you being serious here?

Naismith needs to be dropped for a bit. I think that Mirallas/Barkley/Lennon behind Lukaku, with McCarthy and Besic supporting, we'd be seriously back in action.

he's shattered, put in a hell of a shift, but he was very poor i though. i mean, he was playing like a DM. rom was a threat all night when running at them i thought, but he had no support whatsoever. he'd go past a defender and have to basically stop because everyone was 20 yards behind.

Not sure why, but I find myself losing faith with Martinez more during the last few weeks than at any time in the season....
Funny how people see things differently. Bobby has restored my faith completely. He has got us playing defensively sound football coupled with incisive and pacey counter-attack. I thought we were dead unlucky tonight as Chelsea were not the better side despite their wage bill.
Hopefully, after all the criticism he has taken (and I put my hand up here), Bobby doesn't look to greener fields (although when Barca come knocking, I can understand his maybe looking to leave)

mad how much [Poor language removed] barkley gets on here yanno, one of our best natural players, such a young age playing outat of position in bad form, and gets constantly slated, yet naismith ( whos grown on me tbf ) literally lost the ball every single time he had it ( like the last few weeks ) gets absolutly no stick
Naismith does from me ;)

One more lesson from this game for Roberto -- have a dig from distance. For 89 minutes not once did Chelsea have a dig from outside the box when having a wide player to be able to pass it to. But with a minute to go Willian does exactly what is necessary and just hammers the ball back in. And gets the reward for putting two fingers up to ticky-tacky football.
