Watching everton do much the same thing doesn't make me happy, no.
C'mon mate, behave.

You can be disappointed that we lost, I am too, but you can't tell me that the performance wasn't much better than what's been served up recently. We need new players in certain areas, that much is for damn sure, but fundamentally all we can do is get the current crop working and there was evidence of that there tonight.

didn't chelsea have 1 shot on target in the first half?

let us do our thing, like 2-3 brilliant saves from the keeper and hitting the crossbar, very generous of them, they also brought on 3 senior players they didn't want to play today to try change the way the game was going, we outshot them mate, and not crap efforts but genuine chances we should have taken really

But Stevon - they've been so average this season and that was their B team. They coasted through. Are we honestly celebrating the keeper making saves?!?!

The reason why we played better in the second half was that Chelsea let theif foot off the gas and stopped pressing us, giving us space and time to play along the ground

In the first half they were all over us, resulting in a lot of long balls being hoofed to no good effect.

We need to find a solution to bypass the press without a target man to aim at

Nailed it.

There have been other games where we didn’t get what we deserved to be fair... the two league wins for starters

rubbish - we were much better than Stoke and better than Bournemouth for the first half and then the final quarter of the game.

You can't blame Rhino.

But we can blame BK and Moshfraudi.

We simply don't have good players.

We will finish 12th-15th. Yay.

EXACTLY.

They conserved energy and then, at will, got the second goal minutes after bringing on Morata. Until Niasse caused some mayhem they were in total control.
Yeah mate hitting the bar and their keeper having to make a couple of very good saves sounds like they were in control. They dropped off us because we moved the ball quicker and players got on down the flanks pushing them back. You should know this, every team we've faced this season does the same thing to us. Nothing to do with how they played but how we played. I can't phathom how you can't take positives from that game based on what we saw against arsenal compared to today and the fact the current manager has had one single training session with the players.

Ok but using your own words to counter that with the poor players you mention above they actually played well in the 2nd half.

I am at a loss at what you expected from a manager a day or so in charge and with a squad in your own admittance some of whom are poor. So who would you have picked then?

Thanks for asking.
Not Williams - anyone but Williams.
Lookman rather than Lennon, or rather than Mirallas.
I'd have had anyone, ANYONE in the squad in there other than McCarthy. He's been abysmal for years. He doesn't even want to play for us.

First time probably this season, we didn't get what we deserved out of the game. The players deserved extra time for their efforts tonight at the very least.
True, that's the least we deserved. I'm actually not too bothered now, got to get stuck in to Leicester form the off, and have to play Oumar.

Considering he has had a days training with them, thought the lads were outstanding, particularly second half.

Davies and Beni ran that half.
Bit of quality on the wings/up top and we would have scored at least one.

Positive shoots of recovery. Dont remember Pickford having a save to make second half.

Onto Leicester. Must win.
two kids, they were very good. Beni didnt do much wrong, Davies looked like the player that burst onto the scene. With a good striker and centre half, the rest of the team playing better, we may actually stay n the top flight. Koff dutch megaswede

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the transfer window is currently closed. So with three of the back four seemingly playing on fumes now, who was Unsworth supposed to play at the back? He can only work with what he inherited and by all accounts (or at least the vast majority thereof), we showed more spirit in this game than we have all season. Unsworth cannot conjure new players out of thin air, but he sure as hell can do something about motivating the squad, something it seems he's doing far better than his predecessor.

Spot the wums in full flow, tragic beauts

Any Blue who's watched us all season and then watched that spirited 2nd half performance and can't see a marked improvement in a day! Either doesn't know their arse from their elbow or is just a bad wum, trying to wind up Blues.

*logs off*
Absolutely . I'm shocked coming on here after after watching that game that people are actually criticising that performance against "The Champions "
