Agree with that. Used Airbnb a few times as well. If you do some research, lots of positive reviews etc. you can often find something really decent and way cheaper than hotels, I never had a problem yet. After all when you are away you are often out majority of time so why pay loads for a hotel when you are hardly in it ?For city breaks I usually just go on sky scanner and check flights and booking.com and a few other ones to check apartments.
I’ll usually have a list of about 4/5 places which I’d like to go and have a compare of prices and which flights work best for me etc and book around that.
Only tend to do package stuff if I’m going on a resort holiday, but that’s just my preference.
Tbf it is crap there, can be nice further out as it’s quiet but the actual city is so so overrated
Yeah definitely. I won’t stay in anywhere that looks properly grim, but I’d definitely pick location over swankiness when choosing a place to stay for a city break.Agree with that. Valencia is safer.Barcelona is decent. Got the beaches as well as the city attractions.
They ok with letting brasses in though?I stay away quite a lot on my tod, with my running and if you book well enough in advance most places will knock quite a bit off, for single occupancy - especially the likes of Booking.com
1985 cant remember muchAnyone been to Rotterdam? Thinking of going tomorrow as I'm nearby
Wow, just had a quick look and it’s quite a bit cheaper doing it separately! For city breaks I usually just go on sky scanner and check flights and booking.com and a few other ones to check apartments.

Sometimes going solo is the best way to do it. You get to set your own pace and no one else to accomodate. I get extremely Type A on vacation and try to do as much as humanly possible, so it's better for everyone if I go it alone.Woes of living alone, no one to do weekend breaks with and can't afford the single supplement
Never had a problem with barcelona tbh just same as any cityValencia is safer.
Yes I do have holidays on my own, wouldn't have confidence to go abroard on my own though.Sometimes going solo is the best way to do it. You get to set your own pace and no one else to accomodate. Anyway, I've only ever been to Europe once but for the US and Canada my favorite city breaks have been Toronto, Portland, and surprisingly enough, Pittsburgh.
