I feel so conflicted about this issue. It will be blow not having James, and so many other players for the WC qualifiers that are coming up next month specially given that we have a new manager. But I also don't want James or Mina to travel to South America if they are going have to quarantine on their way back and miss some Important games with the Blues. I wish FIFA would just cancel the upcoming meetings.

James Rodríguez was the protagonist on the Twitch platform with a live broadcast while playing Call of Duty: Warzone . The Everton player from England spent three hours virtually sharing with his friends and answered some questions from his fans, some of them about football.

When asked about his presence in the next match of the Qualifying Selection of the month of March, James said that "the issue is super complicated" due to the British government restrictions for all travelers returning from South America , Portugal and some countries from Africa. Colombia faces Brazil in Barranquilla on the 26th and Paraguay in Asunción on the 30th.

"I don't know, really; because the issue is super complicated. When you leave, you have to do a 10-day quarantine when you return. I don't know how they are going to handle the issue, but they know that I always want to go to the National Team. But I don't know, let's see what happens, "said the midfielder, who also confessed that as a child he had the dream of playing for Tolima .
On this occasion, FIFA will not force clubs to lend to their players due to the situation that is being experienced with the coronavirus pandemic. The UK teams would have the intention not to yield their figures to the South American teams as they would be harmed by the mandatory quarantine upon return. If the British government removes this measure in the coming weeks, the outlook could change in favor of Conmebol.

Colombia would be one of the teams most affected by these losses. He couldn't count on James and Yerry Mina from Everton, Davinson Sánchez from Tottenham , Steven Alzate from Brighton, Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth and Alfredo Morelos from Rangers Scotland.

Suxks because Colombia have 2 tough games and we need him after being terrible last 2 matches. We need points

But we are in the thick of things on the PL as well and not fair to miss him, Mina, richy, and allan for 10 days.

Richy will choose country over club for sure

So I hope that they lift that rule come game time. I read that they were lifting the lockdown so maybe?

Also cases are way down in south America

@UptheTofees are you still going to Copa América?

Conmebol published through its website the official fixture of the Copa América 2021 Argentina-Colombia, which will feature the participation of the 10 South American teams, since the coronavirus pandemic
prevented the participation of the guests.

The contest will start on Sunday, June 13 at 4:00 pm (Colombian time) at the Monumental, where Argentina will face Chile, while Paraguay will face Bolivia in the second round at Malvinas Argentina de Mendoza. The activity in Colombian territory will begin the next day with the matches Brazil vs Venezuela in the Atanasio Girardot and Colombia vs Ecuador in the Metropolitano.

During the group phase, the team led by Reinaldo Rueda will rotate through three cities in the country: Barranquilla, Medellín and Cali, having the debut and its last match of this round in the capital of the Atlantic, where the grand final will be played on Saturday 10 July from 7:00 pm

The Monumental will be the stage that receives the most matches in this Copa América with a total of 5, while the Estadio Único de Santiago del Estero will only have 2 commitments of the 13 that Argentina will host, while in Colombia 15 will be played, including the dispute for the third place in El Campín and the grand final.

"The Copa América is not only the opportunity for those selected to achieve continental glory, but it is also presented as an unbeatable instance of preparation for the teams for the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. With a good rhythm of high competition, South American countries increase their chances of arriving with solid teams tuned to those international commitments, "says part of the Conmebol statement.

2 groups of 5 ....4 round robin matches / almost a month of play to eliminate only 1 team from each group !?

I wanna go so bad but I think it will not be good. They should cancel
I totally agree. The situation in Colombia and in South America in general still is very concerning specially given the lack of vaccines and the Covid cases still going up. Im thinking if the situation continues they will be playing without fans but then it won't be as exciting.
