Nvidia had serious issues with many of their GPUS, like the RTX 2070 amongst others, depending on the manufacturing process and such some batches have been dud, more so in early releases which is prime candidate material for consoles

That and you get a bunch of glitchy goofy errors like this

PS5 Rest Mode is Bricking Consoles

The PS5's Rest mode seems to be causing issues for some users, sometimes even completely bricking their consoles.

My Gamecube bricked back in the day over a memory card error. I tried to transfer data to my friend’s card and it bricked the console. The Wii bricked for a similar reason. It’s understandable that when you are mass producing a new product that many of them are defective upon launch. I just feel safer waiting (but I can see myself caving).

The recent 3000 series release has been a shytshow too...

I gave my HP Omen back to get a replacement GPU just in case under warranty as I did not fancy forking out £600 for a replacement

I would expect so but It is still lacking VR, Ray Tracing, G Sync and other goodies found in the RTX GPUs which are a few years old themselves

And all that means absolutely zip to your average console owner that probably plays on it for an hour or so per week (me).

The hardcore gamer/nerd % of the customer base is probably 1/10th of that of the casual user who doesn’t even know what those things are (again, me).

PS5 does work with PSVR, and it does have ray tracing albeit an optional setting in most games with a performance hit that isn't worth it (same with PC). G sync is proprietary nvidia nonsense which would add several extra hundreds to both the price of the console and every TV/monitor people would have to buy to work with it. So none of that is really a mark against it.

Absolutely loved Disco Elysium. Very good for multiple playthroughs as well, as there are whole sections of the game and huge chunks of the dialogue that play out completely different depending on how you 'play' your character and your choices.

Also:

Best dialogue system in any game ever lol

I enjoyed playing it, but it seemed like so much world building went into something that seemed to finish before it even got started really. Felt like a tech demo for something that could have been much bigger.
