Computer games.

If you're playing 1080p the RTX 3060 is pretty much the best in the game. RTX 3060ti is great at 1080p and also solid at 1440p - pretty much run any game at ultra settings to a high standard.

If you've got the budget and will be playing 1440p or 4k then 3080 is the one. However, the stock levels at the minute are INSANE. You could be waiting 3months+ to get your hands on a 3080, the pandemic has played havoc with production.

edit: seen you're playing 1080p. If you're going to remain at 1080p then RTX 3060 is the best and not even that expensive. Stock levels for 3060 are the best of all the 3 series GPU's, too.
I was strongly considering moving from PS4 to PC instead of getting a PS5, but it’s expensive enough without the GPU shortage. Maybe I’ll wait and just get one instead of a PS6.

It’s a shame as I know a few people in the same position but won’t commit due to the situation.

I done the same thing mate. I've always been console really but rather than getting a PS5 i've punted for a PC. I ordered one of the new 3060ti GPU's in my build a the end of January and i'm still waiting for it to be delivered. All down to the global GPU shortage, however, I think i should get it next week.

Tbf though the PS5 is a beast, to get a PC that can match its power it's £1,000+.

Mate, it's just impossible to get a PS5.
This has made me think maybe I should just upgrade my PS4 Pro to an SSD and get another year or two out of that before deciding what to do next. I only really play one game anyway. It’s a relatively cheap upgrade to make.

Hopefully by then the GPU situation and PS5s are more available/cheaper.

I quite like my PS5. The controller is really neat and it may be some time (if ever) untill its features are fully supported on PC.
Only thing I don't like about the PS5 is no DisplayPort output.
PC and PS5 is the way to go for games, no doubt.
