Computer games.

Used to use one of those but just found it a little too big.
To me if feels medium sized. I expected bigger considering the reviews. My hands aren’t particularly big either.

Maybe it’s due to all the heavy bulky office mice I’ve used over the years at work.

I’m not convinced this is the mouse for me. I like the look of the Razer Basilisk Ultimate or Deathadder V2 Pro.

Which one do you have?

I use a Razer Viper mate, love it.

I'm probably going to send this G502 Lightspeed back. It slopes off too much on the right side of the mouse and my little finger drags on the mat. Also I can't get used to the wheel. The infinite scroll is nice, but when in 'normal' mode it clicks very loudly and takes a lot more force than my old Steelseries.

This is driving me a bit mad though. I've been watching mouse review videos all week. I've even measured my hands lol (19.5cm x 11cm, for anyone interested).

I have a decision to make - gaming laptop or PS5.

I play PES and Fallout 4 .... thats about it.

Pro for laptop- can do so much more; games easily moddable. Portable.

Cons - whether a game works or not can be quirky. I've never got on with keyboard controllers.

Pro for PS5 - used to the ps style controller, games simply work. Can use the ps4 games I already have. Cheaper

Cons for ps5 - locked into what Sony supply. Need wiring to a TV.

I'd go for the gaming laptop if I knew what I were doing - around £700 budget. IF I could tie in a game to use my existing ps4 controller on the laptop. Anyone done this?

Suggestions? Opinions?

For that budget a PS5 would be best. To get a laptop/PC with the capabilities of a PS5 or better you'd need to spent at least £1,000.

As above, if your budget was at least £1k plus, I'd say gaming laptop a lot more versatile and useful, but as you've described the situation I'd say PS5.

But, and it's a big but, the PS5 still isn't an essential purchase either IMO simply because it has nothing invaluable released for it yet. So I wouldn't feel like you have to rush a decision if you already have a PS4.

Appreciate the input. Truth is I'm not surecwhether I need the ps5 spec that much. So far the only games that have captured me are PES and fallout. All the rest simply do nothing for me. These are old games so I won't need much high spec.

I'm tempted by an Asus TUF dash f15 for just under 700 in curry's. Though I built my first desktops from 286 to 486 before going the laptop route I don't know enough modern info to know if the Asus is any good or not. I know I don't want noisy fans and short battery life, other than that I just want it to be able to play my few games.

I don't know a whole lot about gaming laptops tbf never had one. But a quick look at the spec on that would have me a little concerned - it's a lot of money for something that's nowhere near top-end. For that price point, honestly, PS5 is the best option. As Tubey said though, not much of its features and capabilities have been fully unlocked yet, we're waiting for the next-gen games to actually make it worth the while.

The problem with laptops of that price range is how long they last without issues. The one you mentioned has only 8GB RAM so will struggle with memory intensive stuff, and the GPU is what I'd call 'decent' but will struggle with newer titles around 18 months from now. For any laptop or PC I'd recommend 16GB RAM as a hard rule.

I’d never recommend a gaming laptop personally. Such a cop out device.

The heat and battery are the big turn-offs to me.

Thing with laptops is they're not that portable so you mostly use it at home anyway. The screen size is so limited, and while you could plug it in to a TV or big monitor, in that case you might as well just get a console/tower PC.
With the PS5 you can rest easy knowing any future games of the next 8-10 years that interest you (next Fallout, e.g.) will be compatible and run decently well, at the very least.
