Computer games.

Picked up Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines on sale. Never played it before yet its got quite a reputation as a classic. Hope its not too dated. By chance, if anyone here has played it recently on Steam and know if there are any mods or whatever that are recommended?
I've had it since early 00's it is dated like but the modding scene is supposedly very good, I haven't fired it up to try but yeah it is still going strong and the new one is out soon almost 20 years on lol

I have recently discovered the wonders of Xbox Games Pass. I had no idea it was available on PC, and I've found a few games I've wanted to play for a while, such as Forza Horizon 4 and SnowRunner, both of which look stunning in 1440p in ultra settings, and makes me realise how terribly optimised DayZ is in comparison.

I remembered I had an old Xbox 360 wired controller lying around, and it works as if I'm playing on console. It's nice to still have that plug in and play element.

I've only paid £1 for the first month, but at £7.99 a month I can see me keeping it for a while.

Really feel like I'm getting the best of the console and PC gaming worlds at the moment and pretty pleased with my decision to move over from PS4.

Yes mate as the first thing I bought when I got my new PC. Serious mileage across all the games in their inventory.

Being treated to The Fortgotten City and the new Age of Empires tomorrow. Really looking forward to playing both of those.

Games Pass is also getting the new Football Manager on day one (9th Nov), Forza Horizon 5 and GTA San Andreas remaster on launch next month too. Incredible value for money.

I didn’t know GTA San Andreas was going to be on there. That’s great news as I really want to play the updated games but I think the £60 asking price or whatever it is is extortion.

I have banned myself from ever playing Football Manager again. It’s like heroin to me and it almost cost me a good grade in my degree. I will happily spend hours scrolling through lists of players trying to find bargains.

Just had a look and this is what Rockstar have said about them:

Rockstar has explained that all three games also feature quality-of-life improvements such as updated controls inspired by GTA 5, "improvements to targeting and lock-on aiming, updated Weapon and Radio Station Wheels, updated Mini-Maps with enhanced navigation allowing players to set waypoints to destinations, updated Achievements, Trophies, and more." You'll also be able to immediately restart a failed mission, cutting out major points of frustration from the originals.

Absolutely loved Darkest Dungeon, but I've gotta say I find the second game disappointing thus far (I've played for a couple of hours). They've removed so much of what made me love the first game. I loved grinding to upgrade my hamlet, building a squad of characters with the right perks etc, but all that's basically gone. There's seemingly no dungeons in the game at all either. DD2 almost feels like a mini-game version of DD1. Oh, and steering that wagon is even worse than riding a horse in The Witcher 3. I just don't feel any progression playing this. I now understand why they barely showed any gameplay from it before launch.

Yeah I've heard similar. Watched a bit of gameplay and it looks kinda aimless.

Its very good. Some good releases coming up this year too, halo and forza look great. 2022 they'll start getting some big AAA releases which has been xboxs major weakness over the last couple of years.

Really enjoying Pillars of eternity : deadfire, the turn based combat is much more up my street and it isn't as brutal as Divinity OS, it's also got a few different aspects like managing your ship and crew and keeping them happy. Only at the start about 16hrs in and it looks huge.

I've also got Persona 4 on the go, now I've got it opened up it's good, took a while though lol. Then I've got Ni No Kuni revenant kingdom going, I'm concentrating on these 3 for the time being, got to pass the time off work some how.

I switched a couple of months ago and have been firmly in the Xbox camp since - Happy to pay the £10 a month TBH, it's incredible value

I love my PC gaming but I still (and always will have) a Playstation, you just can't ignore their IP's.
Same reason I also have a Switch, Nintendo are still for me the kings of consistently producing masterful games.
