Got the platinum trophy for Death Stranding director's cut on PS5 earlier. It took longer than I thought but never felt much like a grind because the things to do are so varied. At one point I thought I was seconds away from getting the last trophy when I realised I forgot all about the Half Life/Portal mini quest line but even that didn't take long. I must have walked past one particular companion cube about 50 times without noticing it. The actual last thing to do was the racetrack for the last vehicle blueprints which was a fun way to end my time with the game. Sunk a solid two weeks into it in total. Loved it.
Regarding the story, the only things I don't quite get is:
Yeah BTs can still be annoying late into the game. Mules you can shrug off but BTs are the reason I covered pretty much the entire map in ziplines so I didn't have to deal with them.I really enjoyed my time with Death Stranding. Found the gameplay immersive and interesting, but the story was pure bunkum to me.
I also wish there was an option after you'd finished the game to turn off the BT's so you can just explore freely at your own pace.
Arsed having my stuff lashed all over the map by some sludge monster every 3 minutes
Regarding the story, the only things I don't quite get is:
1. Why did Clifford remain as some sort of special/intelligent/vengeful BT that can summon supercells? What makes him different?
2. Extinction Entities - if the Death Strandings are unavoidable, why are EE's needed at all?
