Computer games.

Starfield is baaaaaaaaaad. I’m not bothered about the glitches, graphics, gameplay etc because that’s Bethesda, love it or hate it.

For me they’ve spent a decade working on a game that they’ve absolutely no vision as to what it’s meant to be. I don’t feel it’s a cyberpunk the setting and lore is really cool, It seems to be flawed as an RPG, flawed as an open world, flawed as a space shooter and as an FPS. The setting is unimpressive and the story is utterly nonsensical.

No man’s sky is 1000x better than this pile of AAA garbage.
I've been a huge fan of Bethesda games in the past - but the most damning thing about Starfield is...it's just bloody boring

Think about the amazing intro/world reveals of Fallout 3 and Skyrim and compare them to this

Talk about putting people off before they've even started

Not even 8 hours in and it's got me thinking about reinstalling Elite Dangerous.

So glad I got a month of free Game Pass to try it out.

My Kids got the credits up on starfield after 107 hours of game play… said it was awesome and got better the deeper it went.. can see his favourite bit was building his ship.

I have nothing else for what it’s worth as I’m still addicted to fallout 4
Since Fo4 dragged me back unto gaming after 25+ years (other than PES) I've tried 6 or 7 other similar games such as "last of us" "elite dangerous" "mass effect" "elder scrolls" "cyberpunk" ... none of them have drawn me more than an hour or so in before I decided either the learning g curve was too steep to bother or the game was on rails.

FO4 is just perfect... with seemingly unlimited ability to mod it.

*get out of the fecking way Codsworth!

It's not great. I'm persevering but the graphics are pretty bad at times, the characters are pretty much all annoying and the UI is ridiculously cumbersome.

The Outpost building and moving around resources/inventory is shockingly bad from what I can make out and the spaceship design takes far too much working out with little to no advice. It's almost like it's actively discouraging you at times. Adding research and (grind) challenges to the levelling up is just busywork rather than gaming.

It almost feels like an unofficial and poorly implemented Mass Effect mod for Fallout 4. But based on Mass Effect Andromeda rather than any of the good ones. Games designed by people that don't play games it seems like.

But worst of all it's just....boring. I can only assume there's been a talent drain at Bethesda.

They appear to have spent 10 years working on a game that doesn’t do exploration as well as No Mans Sky, doesn’t do space combat anywhere close to Elite Dangerous, gives a terrible representation of space and then they’ve bastardised a Bethesda RPG element into it.

To make up for this they appear to have put a relatively complex ship upgrade system into the game only to be rendered pointless by how bad the combat and space exploration is.

Best of all they’ve released it when the consumers are absolutely sick of over hyped AAA games being let-downs.

Anyone get headaches playing Balders gate? Tried turning a few.l graphicsoptions off,can only assume its the level of detail or something
I was fine with Baldur Gate but there was another game that caused me such problems, Alien Isolation when i played it few years ago.
No matter what setting or resolution i tried i would always get headache and nausea after only 20-30 minutes. Never finished it.
It's often a narrow field of view or bad motion blur that causes problems for people
It is quite often caused by motion sickness. Can be sitting too close to the monitor, wearing a VR headset, brightness versus a dark background etc etc. Moving further away could well help. I sit about 8ft from my tv when playing Xbox. Don't play PC games any more tbh..

Sure I read Fallout 3 is getting remastered and released soon!!
If Stargate is where they're at for a AAA title then what exactly is the point (besides easy money) of a Fallout 3 'remaster'?
Absolutely reeks of the GTA remasters fiasco.

Oh good, someone needs to mod up a deathclaw safari thing.
The Skyrim mod that gave all the dragons Macho Man Randy Savage Heads and had them shouting "Oooh Yeah!" instead of roaring and screeching will never be bettered.

This is going to be the longest of long shots but you just never know. Basically just woken up from a dream and in that dream I was discussing online PC games we used to play at school in the early/mid 2000’s so have been trying to hunt them down. So far I’ve found Neopets. One more eludes me…

Basically all I remember was that it was a game you accessed through a website as we could play it on school computers. Your character was (or at least mine was) a male human, maybe brown hair, fighter and you basically did little boss levels and killed stuff to get better swords and items etc. From memory the viewpoint was side on, sort of Street Fighter but on a slight angle.

I have been googling for an hour and getting nowhere. I swear this game existed. If you’re in your 30’s, HELP.

Edit: and it wasn’t RuneScape.

Bethesda have been rather disingenuous pitching Starfield as a space game.

It's an RPG set on multiple worlds with some FPS.

Sure, you can build a spaceship, but it's pretty much anchored to a planets orbit.

Right now I feel it's a case of play it for the RPG/FPS if that's what you're into, or don't bother.

I can’t believe I’m so late to this game… I don’t want to say yet it’s my favourite of the genre but man it’s definitely pushing my loyalty to a Skyrim pretty far.. I can see being immersed into this world far longer than any of the others.

All other open world games I move on once I’ve done the main story arc… this feels different .. I feel the main arc is literally living in the world. I think cos I’m a Minecraft addict it also hits on that world building side I really enjoy! If only I had a morsel of real talent for it.

Saying that I’m about to make the call: do I side with the raiders in Nuka World or do I wipe them all out? Let me just say I’m googling which is the best companion to help me wipe them all out!

one of the Golden Axe series maybe?

Never played a Bethesda game that wasn't chock full of immersion-killing issues/bugs.

They are the kings of jank and comfortably the most overrated devs of all time imo
