Computer games.

If you can even tell from these messy specs I've pulled out from what I was sent in Spanish, is 250€ a decent price for this tower at 2nd hand good condition? My workmates selling it and was half tempted to finally get starting with pc gaming if it seems a really good price

Gigabyte Z 97 X Gaming S
Intel I5 4590
16gb DDR3 1600 (upgradeable to 32)
RX 580 8GB DDR5
SSD 120Gb & hard disc of 1tb
Mars Gaming MC-C Panel w/ 3 fan ARGB
Get a bigger SSD. And as Hinchy said more RAM. I don't know anything about gpus/cpus tbh. Only buy cheap 2nd hand stuff.

No worries! There's probably more knowledgeable people on here than me when it comes to pcs but I think it looks a basic intro gaming pc. Beware once you get into this world of gpus and cpus you'll end up spending loads of cash and trying to justify it to your better half 😂

That's exactly it... We are moving apartments this month so I'm on an app to try sell a load of things and happened to notice also there's a lot of 2nd hand PCs and ended up spending a bit last night trying to get up to speed a bit more so I could spot a good setup at a good price

Then I realised what my missus would say if she knew I was focusing on that and I gave it up.

I need to pick my battles, I had her agreeing since months ago that the TV needs upgrading and I wanted to buy a good one on black Friday. I think it's been forgotten so I need pick the right moment to remind her, after Ive done lots of work on the move!

Going to get a decent gaming TV with 2.1 ports

My Skyrim folder is about the same size. Fried my pc last week with some new mod pack that clearly wasn't meant for my specs so bought a new one with a 4060 ti in it, my God, the power.
Did you get a whole new PC? You’ve got me thinking about PC upgrades again. I really want an Asus 4070 but can’t justify it right now.

I’ve noticed the recommended settings of some new AAA releases are beginning to exceed what I’ve got performance wise.

Also wouldn’t mind upgrading my SSD from 1TB to a 2TB with faster read/write speeds as in theory it should increase performance of open world games, but I’ve only got 1x M.2 slot so it’d be a faff. Suppose I could just get a SATA drive, but it seems a step backwards compared to M.2.

Castlevania Advance Collection (PS4)

I never played any of the handheld Castlevania games - I only ever played Symphony of the NIght on PS1 (An epic entry in the series with just about everything you want in a videogame) This collection features four GBA titles, remastered and tidied up with lots of smart features.

OK so graphically they're all showing their age but the gameplay is still a real challenge and the platforming/exploring/monster-slaying fun is still terrific.

I miss more straightforward games like this... the 3-D open-world genre just isn't as fun for me. Gimme some old-school 2-D map-crawling action.

I wish I could be bothered getting into PC Gaming. I know my gaming experience would be significantly improved but I can never justify the initial outlay. I want to be convinced otherwise but how much would I have to spend to get up and running initially to be able to play games at a similar level to the PS5?

Aye I did, like you I've been noticing the specs for games going through the roof and thought it's probably an opportunity to do an upgrade once and do it right. The price seems to have plateued on gpus as well finally. Still pricey kit like, but I shouldn't need to upgrade for 5 years now.

£250 tops.
If you've a screen already.
You can pick up a bundle for a song. My former pc gave up a few months ago, so I was in a bad way, got onto ebay and bought this gaming rig with a ton of goodies for 220 notes. (don't buy through ebay, find someone selling nearby and make contact then arrange a viewing, if it's kosher make em an offer for cash and ebay can whistle for their 18%)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER
AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Eight-Core Processor
16gb ddr
windows 10
thermaltake 750w psu
2 ssd's I don't use
Was back online proper in under 48 hours. Old rig couldn't play rdr2, this can. Next upgrade is a significantly bigger gfx card, but that market is insane and has been since covid began. It'll be next year before I look to dabble on a super power card unless a bargain happens by. Benefit of buying a unit is you can check its actually running, because ebay is run by hateful cu..pricks, and there's millions of fraudsters, conmen, thieves and tw..swines that use it to feck people over.
L10AA postcode, just for a laugh - 'nearest first' option
I'd weigh up what I think the value is, check to see how much interest there is, and try and set up a testing. Ask them what they're looking for, agree to cut ebay out of the equation, and find a price you can agree. gut says that rig with screen is probably going for £400ish possibly a bit more, scratch that, it's an rtx 3070 which is a bloody big card, that 'lot' should push £600-£700. If that's where its at, ebays take is circa £125, suddenly that's a bit of leverage you can split with the seller... ;)

You could consider Geforce Now:

I use it in the summer months as it's too hot to run my 3080 gaming PC

Pretty decent experience even just on the Priority subscription and at the other end of the country (servers are in London)

You can play games you own on various stores. They even added Game Pass recently

You can play Starfield in 4K with a 4080 on their top tier...

Yeah I’m so glad I bought my PC when I did. I bought it in June 2021 when the GPU shortage was at its peak, but like you say, the prices have only recently dropped to reasonable levels.

I’ve upgraded a lot of the parts and I can still upgrade the GPU and SSD. That should give me another few years with this PC.

Didn't realize how cheap SSD and ram had got lately, really easy upgrade too.

Honestly, there is no comparison between PC's and consoles... PC's are far superior. Often, the cost of a decent PC graphics card is more than a whole games console. Yes, the upfront costs are higher, but it's worth it if you can afford it.

My last PC was 10 years old, with a monitor that was 15 years old when I decided to buy new replacements. When I worked out the costs per day vs usage over the years, it was cheap as chips for the long term usage... PC's are also far more versatile.

I only bought an X Box console to be sociable with my mates online. It was boring. I always preferred going back to my private PC gaming. Also, it depends what kind of games you like to play? I like games that can be improved by the online modding community; again PC for win!

Have a look at CyberPower on Amazon... it's good for offering PC's across the range from budget to premium.
