Anyone got any recommendations for a first dip into an decent PC real time strategy game? Currently I'm thinking modern - Age of Wonders 4, or old school - Heroes of Might and Magic 3.???

I like fantasy RPG's - Baldur's Gate series, Souls games etc. so want to stay in that genre.

For fantasy you got Songs of Conquest on Steam, its like recent take on Heroes of Might and Magic (inspired by it).
Good reviews on Steam.

For old school there is (my favorite) Myth series made by Bungie (creators of Halo). Those are old fantasy real time tactics games with amazing weighty physics engine.
Though they are hard to find, i played modded versions few years ago.

Any Skyrim enjoyers still out there? I've started a new playthrough with a modlist, Skyrim Nolvus, it's a complete game changer literally. Really high specs needed though, I'm constantly monitoring my CPU and GPU temps in case they fry, but it's incredible and was really easy to install.

We dont need to murder our eyeballs, put our brains on the spectrum with flickering lights and wrist RSI in our 50’s.

We are the casual gamer and our sheer numbers and whims dictate which games are successful.

I get your PC is probably out of date but your opinion doesnt have to be.

Theres a big reason all high end graphics and special effects are done on macs and its aint because its the cheapest, dodgiest do-it-yourself system.
