Computer games.

Do you have a PC already? I've been considering one myself, along with a new GPU, racing wheel and seat etc. someone needs to confiscate my bank card.
Get a wheel. The Logitech wheel (I forget the number) is really really good, and you can get a rig for it very cheap these days if you have a gaming chair just wheel in behind it. Racing games are absolutely something else even with a basic setup.

I've nearly bought the Logitech wheel a few times, but the noise the gear driven system makes would wind me up no end, so I've been looking at the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT. Looks to be around £300 with pedals.

I've always loved racing games, but to play the ones which aren't full to the brim of idiots require a wheel and pedals. I've not played racing games since my 25 win run on Gran Turismo Sport on PS4. Just got sick of being punted in to the gravel by bored teenagers.

Nowadays I would avoid Logitech and Thrusmaster for wheels and especially their pedals.

The Fanatec ready to race bundles are comfortably the best option/value for anyone looking to get into sim racing on PC for first time.

That's much cheaper than what I'd expected a Fanatec package to be. Assumed it'd be £1000+

I'd love to skip gear and belt driven wheels and go straight for a direct drive.

It is a must, as if you enjoy doing it you'll probably upgrade quite quickly and basically end up paying twice. The fanatec small DD was going for a dirt cheap price during Black Friday week.

That said better not to even start, I wouldn't like to calculate how much I have spent in the last few years getting the equipment...

Ah, man, tell me about it. I’ve spent a fortune on power tools for work recently.

What on God's green earth are PTFE mouse feet
Basically make your mice glide across your mouse mad a bit more easily.

I really don’t need it, but I’m a sucker for comfort and convenience.

As a GEN Xer I'd just use a bit of PTFE tape from a 30p roll from Toolstation..

£7 for mouse feet!! Pffftttt
