Computer games.

They do it in every game. The Asian market is much more accommodating of it, I've been told.
Never noticed Monster Hunter being polluted with them. Some communities would lose their stuff if the developer went there, and those series of games tend to be the last bastions against the surging tide of corporate greed.

So one of the lads in work brought one of these handheld gaming devices in the other day - I gotta say I'm mighty impressed. Huge library of games on it - every historical console/computer system up to PS1 is on there. Runs very smooth, nice tactile controls, decent screen, no performance issues..... Nice study construction as well.

I've got more important pressing things to spend money on but man... I'm deffo sold on these. For less than £50 a portal into my wasted youth? No contest!

I'm looking forwards to checking out the likes of the PC Engine titles (never officially released in Europe) and also the loads of JRPGs that I never got to try.....

I've been interested in one of these - and also a below-the-telly plug-and-play version for a looooong time but was always sceptical about them...until now.

Anyone familiar with them?

Looks cool if you're into it to be honest - it seems to just be an emulator running on linux, but as long as it does the job, 100$ (or whatever) seems quite good really.

I'm not tech-savvy at all so I dunno how it operates sadly. It's very smooth however and I had a blast of "F-Zero" on SNES on it - runs perfect. Also Ridge Racer (PS1) - flawless. Also the likes of Tekken etc - polygon-heavy games - all run like a dream. Since "real" original gaming hardware and software from the 90's is now the cost of a kidney - minaturizing them all onto a device this small for a price like that is incredible. Plus it's got systems like the "Vectrex" - beautiful vector graphics - never played it before - and the Sega CD with the legendary Kojima Blade Runner/Terminator adventure "Snatcher" on there.

Aye then I'd say it's well worth it if you're this into it mate. For the price you probably won't be able to beat it either, so might as well, if/when you can afford it.

Despite buying a million games on CD Keys, I am still alternating between Darks Souls 2 & 3, surprisingly 2 is a lot lot more active than 3, it's not even close. Considering 2 gets slated all the time as being the worst, I was surprised.

Secrets of Grindea is a very good indie aRPG and it's fairly difficult too.

I recently changed mobile so have a perfectly good Huwaei p30 pro spare which is only worth around £40 trade in.

Tasking my brother to turn it into a mobile emulator for me. One plus of that is i can easily cast to my tv if i want to play at home.

Have been checking out options for controls such as a controller mount for the phone or the controllers than plug into the phone.

Got back on Elden Ring to try and remember how to play it for the DLC - my Gosh what a game. Got a bit burnt out with it, mainly down to the awful pvp, but it's nice to revisit and see how amazing the pve is.

Has anyone played Rogue Trader? ( @Prevenger17 maybe???)

I know it's by Owlcat games so I'm not buying it until they've fixed the "growing pains" bugs in the 1st six months, but (thanks to @Terrarian reminding me of the existence of CD Keys) I'm now getting a bit itchy to get it as it's on sale lol

I barely play any computer games mate, I was borderline addicted 15 years ago and discontinued my X Box live membership to get away from the things

I love CD keys, I used it quite a lot. Between steam sales and CD keys I never pay full price for games

Started the Mass Effect Remasters on PS4 Pro - with the first instalment of course. Never played any of them before. Beautiful music and visuals... controls are bit iffy and the combat wheel is annoying as hell.... not very intuitive. Pain-in-the-arse mini-map isn't too helpful (I'm not using a walkthrough guide) and the controls for the "Big-Trak" space tank thing are a nightmare....

The story is smart though and the characters are all great... Some super voice acting. I like the fact that your in-game choices resonate throughout the trilogy. The Syd-Mead/Ron Cobb inspired production designs and environments are boss and look great in HD.
