An old issue is running out of HD space for your swap file, easy to do as everything is a hog now, both on the HD and RAM side. The bolded issue is likely not related to RAM but I'd have to see your PC to make a decision.

Troubleshooting on a message board is a sh*tshow, lid.

Put your foot down and demand the mobo and chip specs. Another helpful lead will be what's crammed into the hidden icons area, what's running that shouldn't be. hdd size, singles or raid, ssd, how many games installed on main drive. latest drivers, graphics card. Decent psu.

Though I'm loathe to turn this into one of those 'diagnose the problem pages' loaded to the gills with boot screen grabs and bios shots.

To much crap overloading the fsb and to little hdd space left. time to delete the old crud. or shift it to a side hdd. 8gb isn't a lot any more though.

If I remember right, they said they had 8GB currently installed. My current RAM usage is 20% with just two tabs in Chrome open on Win 7 with 32GB and that's it...that's already +/- 6.5 Gigs so they're likely hitting the swap file frequently which sucks; triple so if you're on an old style HDD and not SSD.

Sorry @Tramps_mate ; as I said, sh*tshow.

Is your PC pre-made (ie. a Dell etc) or homemade?. If it is from a manufacturer, what's the model #?

Can't C, I'm limited to 1.5 Litre's a day due to med reasons...bit of a joke, living in Arizona. Thankfully it's not July yet.
