Last time I (briefly) tried a Legion Go I was left a bit disappointed - I get the appeal of being able to hook it and using it basically as a gaming laptop, but feels a bit off to me. Maybe they've updated it since then, I have no way of knowing, but the Deck felt better then and also once again more recently. It just feels like it's with the idea to be a handheld, whereas the Legion Go felt a bit clunky when you're not using it to play, if that makes sense?Uhmm......not really. Valve maintain a list of steamdeck compatible games. It's not running windows, it's a Linux based OS versus stuff like the Legion Go or ROG Ally which are running windows.
You hook the Legion Go/Ally up to a dock, you can use it like a PC (with a monitor, keyboard and mouse) because they are PC's.
There's plenty of comparison videos it there all telling you why each of them is the best for a particular situation.
Then again, I don't really do handheld gaming at all and never did, so maybe I'm in the wrong here. Realistically as long as you like it and it works well for what you want to do - who's arsed what others think
