Confederations Cup

Dive ---- free kick ----- Brasil 1-0, why am I not suprised. If the match refs are anything like this in the WC as they are in the confed cup, 1/2 the match will be people flopping and play acting for yellows.

Anyone see that South African fan at the end after Brazil scored and the camera dwelt on his face...and he gave it the slit throat gesture?

Good luck anyone going down there for the World Cup.

Something I'd like to know :(:( are there any Englishmen contributing to this thread? I'm curious because when I mention England, it appears taboo, I just don't get you lot, I hope yer not along side me when war breaks out, I'll fight the Redshyte alone, I'll feel more comfortable. :D

It's only worth watching England when Everton players are playing.

The rest of the time they are a load of underchieving prima donnas, who by their greed, and off the field exploits, are losing the respect of the nation (outside London). :P

Whipping boyz no more. After the win against Spain which wasn't any fluke anything will be possible with Brazil. Which team will show up? If the US pulls off another shocker the Worl Cup will be fun as long as the red cards stop accumulating.(y)

We're all very happy for our southern neighbours (despite the fact we can't stand Donovan, but we do like the rest of the USA squad). It was a good day all round in Toronto yesterday (Toronto FC beating Red Bull New York - again).

Now we need the other Toffee to make some magic for Bafana Bafana. I would love to see a Howard v Pienaar final.

Toronto FC ought to be pissed once again.

6 players called up for the Gold Cup ???

That's nuts.

Argh... Brazil get a freekick with minutes to go and scores...

Totally unworthy:(

uggh i'm glad i didn't watch this game, it would have been embarassing on espn. i didn't see it but i'm sure the commentators went on about how brasil seem to only want to play good football and how they truly believe in the beautiful game and other bollocks along those lines.

the red cards situation doesn't help when refs like Larrionda are around. He shouldn't have been allowed to ref another US game after he sent of mastroeni, but of course he gets another chance and uses it to send michael bradley off with a straight red card for a tackle in which he clearly wins all of the ball. Of course, we don't do ourselves any favors when Baldy and Dempsey fall over at the slightest breeze, we could have beaten spain just as easily playing a mans game and looked a bit more dignified doing it.

That was an amazing free kick. But someone needs to have a word with Alves. That stupid, stupid, fcuking beard, or whatever you call it, needs to go.

You wonder that with Pienaar playing so well in such a high profile game - it might only be the Confederations Cup, but he outshone Kaka FFS - whether some European teams might come sniffing. Pienaar was a big name as a youngster, so he also has some reputation.

At the very least, the press will make up some rumours I'm sure.

It'd be interesting to see him given a central role for Everton.

I'd like to see him be more commanding like he was last night, influencing on and off the ball too.

He was booted around and fell over a lot last night though...he'd be good in a central role, yeah, but he'd need a rock solid DM behind him.

Did anyone rate that Gaxa? He's seemed good IMO. Bit naive defending but wasnt scared to bomb forward and take people on for a RB.

Pienaar, Arteta and Neville would be fine.

He covers more ground than anyone else in our squad, he's got so much energy and the skill to go with it.
