Because he is Ferguson Mark II - they want someone to continue what has been done, not someone who would do anything different. If he is world-class, why has no other top-team come in for him.

Ferguson Mark 2 - the ultimate insult.

Arguably, the world's biggest club have appointed him, on the say so of, arguably the world's best manager.

They appointed him because they regard him as the best available manager.

Sadly how good he is will be obvious by how fast Everton plummet down the table.

"until 2pm on Wednesday, four hours after Ferguson made his decision public, Everton's chairman, Bill Kenwright, had no idea that Moyes was wanted by United."

...such is Bill's single minded search for new investment he didn't know what the rest of the country knew four hours earlier.

Richie Cunningham was just another ginger without the fonze mate.

If you get in quick there might be some season tickets left for old trafford next season. No need to carry on watching dreary old Everton when your idol's team are playing.

Are you comparing Bill to The Fonz?

I know, same old, same old it's been for the last five years. You can set the clock by everton really.

Same when we sold Arteta, Ofoe loan and transfer of Fer broken down. When things fcuk up, we heard nothing from the club.

For all Kenwrights wrong doings, he is essentially a theatrical salesman. You only have to listen to the JF96 speech and the numerous tv and radio interviews he has done over the years. Yes we think he is a waste of space but the general opinion outisde of Everton is that he is a pretty good chairman doing a good job. The one thing i think he would be good at, is selling the managers position to whoever they the board see fit, and no i do not mean Mclaren,Alladyce or Coyle et al.
