Confirmed Signing Conor Coady

Some people would rather see Keane heading into his own net or him and Holgate running into each other or Mina going off after 10 minutes.
That defence needs surgery ASAP...Coady on a loan makes sense to me despite his rs support...then sell Holgate and/or Keane.
According to the PL site, Keane and Coady both have 3 own goals and 3 mistakes leading to goals in their PL careers, with Keane having played significantly more games. I suppose it's always possible that players on other teams make mistakes and we just don't notice them as much because we don't see as many games and/or care about the result?

Could we go back to the old 4-2-3-1? Back 4 with coady and tark. Two proper center backs. Dele and Iwobi could both thrive in that 10 role with Onana and Gueye as a top defensive mid duo.

Keane and Tarks also have similar stats, but Tarks is Baresi and Keane is rubbish and we NEED to sell.

if we are interested in him I’m not overly keen on the idea. If he really is as people have suggested “a Kopite bell” isn’t that just opening him up to the same sort of scrutiny that Benitez got. God forbid the lad makes a mistake in the derby. He would get strung up from the highest tree. Not really a conducive atmosphere for a player.
We should be looking for a striker other than waiting on Broja. DCL is starting to look like he’s made of glass like Mina.
Think he's shown over the past 7 years or so that he is a very good professional mate.
He's got to were he has with that professionalism and i doubt a little thing like supporting a club years ago is going to affect that!

in fact, i've seen him play v Liverpool tonnes of time and put probably that bit extra in because some people want to prove said club wrong for letting him go!

Plus points- good defender, strong leader, scores the odd goal, knows the league, calm on the ball
Bad points- kopite, loves lfc, age, no sell on value.
If we ignore the connections to them lot and he improves our back line AND it’s a loan/cheap deal I think it is a sound, albeit strange move for us

Am I surprised we are going for this? Yes

Is he better than most of our defenders ? Yes

As long as we still get a striker in (think we will get Batman after we play Chelsea) then surely we can't complain as it improves the team and depth of squad.

We clearly have a budget, if he fits into it then great.

batman does not improve us in the area we need most

Wolves had to change their entire system because Coady is so bad in a back 4
