But lets take the positives - We've been leaking a lot of goals as well. I think these signings of midfielders and defenders are to fix that hopefully.

You quite simply can't sign a load of players at or past their peak like him, Tarkowski and Gana and claim you're rebuilding and people have to be patient. If you sign players who are only going to be of value for a short period then you have to maximise their use in that period and try to achieve things while you've got them. After the Onana thing yesterday this feels like one step forward two steps back, it feels like we still have a very muddled recruitment strategy.

Frank keeps talking about getting the cohesiveness of team mvt going. Maybe he feels Coady can help bring that, not so much a move forward as the means to move forward.

Again, balanced window

You can sign a couple of experienced heads if you ALSO sign the likes of Patterson

With Coady our defence has a good mix of experience and youth

If we sell Mina we’d have a back 5 of Mykolenko, Tarkowski, Coady, Godfrey and Paterson

That’s a very balanced line up

Yeah I mean he's essentially lauded by everyone that works him as an unbelievable leader and teammate. I don't particularly like us targeting limited players, but if the vision is to play mostly 3 at the back and he's genuinely available on loan, I couldn't argue against it too much. I'm not sure the last time we've had a character like that back there. I'm more afraid of him losing his legs due to age and just being crap.

The team could do with a vertical spine of Coady and JT just to get things going.
Coady, Gueye and Dele could allow time to boost competition on the wings.
Could see Davies coming back into that sort of set up, could rise under Lampard in particular roles.
And would like to see Gordon given a go at RB.
Haha, the off season been a long one.

Or coady, tarkowski, Keane, mykolenko and Coleman. Which isn’t.
