Don't get me wrong- I am not for war just so a prime minister can attempt to win favour and votes from the express and mail readers, a la Maggie. And I'm pretty sure some of those snowflakes are a dab hand at COD with little to no care about whether a human, other than themselves, lives or dies.

I would seriously have an issue taking an order from anyone (male or female) until they have first been able to demonstrate better thought processes. (As I remember this was a comment on one of my school reports!)

Your critiques seem somewhat paradoxical with your own thoughts on the ugly concept of conscription.

I both work and study with younger generations and there is plenty to like and be inspired by in them, I suspect their thoughts on the concept of modern warfare and conscription might be more in line with your beliefs than many of your own generation.

If you look very carefully at the words I wrote, you will see the word "some" in that very first sentence. I'm not generalising a whole generation.

Honestly ... just look at the state of the planet, the way its run by the absolute balloons that have clawed power all over the shop. I am old enough to know I've lived through rhe best of days (outside of my own influence) and what lies ahead, being led by those imbeciles, will only get worse. I'm genuinely at the point where a bullet through the head would mean little to me other than a release. Don't get me wrong - I'm not depressed and I don't want it to happen - not while I have a decent stock of scotch at least, but I don't value my own mortality the way I did in the 70s when the future looked interesting.

While I am perhaps a touch more hopeful, I don't disagree.
