I'm probably too old and infirm but if I was of age again I would only fight as part of a defence force. I wouldn't go overseas , especially if the war wasn't really about us.

(Not the first time I've said thus in this thread) ... I'm not generalising. Re-read the first sentence in the thread and you will see the word "some." Some is not all. My post-boomer logic is sound.

I'm sure it would all work alright if I was though...

And I'm pretty sure some of the boomers and "post-boomers" (?) opinions in this thread are pretty bigoted but hide behind the use of "some".
 
Bring back conscription now I'm too old. Of course though I wouldn't want the youth of our nation off somewhere spilling their blood and others.

But in years to come where will we find the overweight middle aged blokes puffing their chests and splitting the seams of their uniform while getting bladdered on Remembrance Sunday and proudly remembering their service years of catching STDs and playing wankbiscuit without actually getting anywhere near actual combat?
