Contracts - A seasonal positive

Potentially an incredible turnover of players over the next two summers. I'd only keep Calvert-Lewin and Branthwaite which would mean 17 others leaving.

Huge opportunity in tandem with the stadium being ready.

2024 (11)
Iwobi
Gray
Gomes
Doucoure
Dele
Gana
Gbamin
Coleman
Young
Lonergan
Danjuma (loan)

2025 (8)
Godfrey
Keane
Maupay
Calvert-Lewin
Cannon
Virginia
Holgate
Branthwaite

2026 (3)
Mykolenko
Tarkowski
Garner

2027 (4)
Onana
Pickford
McNeil
Patterson

Just looking at our attacking midfield options:

McNeil (2027)
Dobbin (2025)
Gray (2024 + 1 year option)
Danjuma (2024)
Harrison (2024)
Iwobi (2024)
Doucoure (2024)
Dele (2024)

We currently only have McNeil and Dobbin beyond this season.

This is why the Gnonto deal is critical.

Id sell him regardless. Priority needs to be selling those whose contracts are expiring in the next two summers.
The challenge we may face is that regardless of the wage issue for prospective buyers, we also have to face the reality that agents/players may see benefit in letting the contracts expire - especially as for older players being contract free could offer one last big pay day.

And this is Everton.

2024 list is incredible.

Most of them could go and we would not miss at all.

It's like having a house full of "valuables" and paying someone to clear

Should have a clock above every players bench in changing room showing how long left on contract

Hits zero and you get kenwright jumping out in a gimp suit shouting good times...Good times

10 players out of contract next summer and 7 in 2025.

Massive recycling of players happening.

i would release coleman and young and then the priority should be to sign world class full backs

id allocate most of our transfer budget for the fullbacks, ideally up to 50 mil for each one

a decent full back is one of the most underrated positions

Take a look at our wingers/attacking midfielders under contract + centre mids.

We really cannot waste a second of next summer, there has to be movement happening pretty much the week after the season ends. There is no time to faff about scouting players and sounding out agents, that should be taking place throughout the season and we should have deals ready to go. They’ve left themselves absolutely no margin for error.
