This is decent. I personally wouldn't include Texas nor that much of Arkansas in the Deep South, but I can see the arguments for it.

there are plenty of ways to slice this, but from my travels, however limited, I would argue that much of Texas is definitely "Southern" in much the same way as most of the Deep South is Southern, but Oklahoma is absolutely not Southern at all. Texas shares a lot with the SW as well, but anything I-35 and East is really nothing like NM or AZ. I have no idea why Houston is its own section, especially Overall this map seems mostly ok.

Seems about right for where I live. My city is pretty much right at the intersection of Appalachia, The Ozarks and the Deep South. There are elements of all of them around here, but we also don’t clearly belong in one or the other.

I'm not sure what WV is other than 'scary'. It's certainly not Deep South. SW Virginia feels like Deep South if you haven't spent time there, but it isn't. Ditto the adjoining regions of North Carolina.
Same thing here in East TN. I understand why an uninitiated person arriving here for the first time might think it was, but venture into rural West TN or Mississippi and they would quickly realize how wrong they were.

Well, look at it this way: Most of those states leading in that south eastern direction, it's 100% legal to marry your first cousin.

The rest of the states, and indeed most of the world that's illegal and considered borderline incest! 😲

I'd never heard of The Ozarks until.. well Ozark. America really does have everything doesn't it? Stunning country.

Would you be from Knoxville? I think that deserves a section of its own.
