To be honest, after that burst a few minutes we scored, they never looked much like scoring.

No they didn't. And that was the most pleasing part - not bricking it all game because our defence was under the cosh (except for those few minutes), and killing the game off, even though it didn't make for an exciting spectacle.

A necessary quality to possess when scrapping for points.

We would have scored more on the counter if only Lukaku had not been having one of his poorer days.

Need to show this again for the next few games before attempting the expansive football again.

Good win against a team who in for and scoring goals. We need to step up again
The result was good. Our determination was much better. Defensively we looked better (at times). Still, we're far off where we need to be.

As you mentioned, we need to step it up a gear if we're to get the result we want against those lot. Confidence and hard work will achieve this.

Couldn't fathom out, why they were going down feining injury with like 10 mins to play? Pardew tactics?

But yeah, Leicester, Burnley, Sunderland, Hull, WBA are well worse than us, whats worse than that, is we've dropped a possible 13 points against them.

But Palace are poor, but on their day, they can play quite well, as we've discovered of late, whilst it's too early to be over-joyous with a win, at least we won't go down, time to focus on getting 3 points against the RS, and stopping their efforts at getting in the CL again, then onto EL, which is all our campaign is about now. Lets see how their confidence is, if we beat RS next week.
totally agree. all about the EL as we aren't going down. can't see the RS making CL. Arsenal will find a way to 4th as they always do. Chelsea, City, Man United, and Arsenal
