Much better shape to the side especially second half, not pretty but effective.

Not the complete performance of course, plenty of areas for improvement still, but with better finishing by Lukaku late on and better decision making by McGeady late on we should have been comfortably out of sight.

Robles looking much more solid as was Jags and Stones. Excellent performance from Besic.

In front of a raucous Goodison next week we can give it a go. Time for Mirellas to perform and for Lukaku to continue scoring.

Fans in good voice today.
behave...

hey lads, so i watched the game today, quickly had to dash at FT, went to a comedy club and drank a few beers and now don't remember much of today, so did we actually win for once and keep a clean sheet in the process? not right surely?

It was perfect.....just asking to be attacked.

"a yard" further back the defender would have cleared it comfortably.

is right, Delboy was slinging that sort of ball over on a regular basis last season

Memo to Rom...take a chance just slide in and see what happens, knee, ankle, leg, foot, a bit of contact and in it flys.
should be 'Striker 101'

When you're near the bottom of the table you have to grind out wins any way you can and just find a way to get the 3 points. We managed to do that yesterday against a team with some renewed confidence because of Pardew coming in.

I'm extremely happy with the win, and it's the best situation we could be capable of being in at the moment before the Derby (draw or loss obviously doing nothing for their heads). Just hope we all get behind them at Goodison next week and don't help to orchestrate a derby loss by adding to the pressure.
