….it’s all ok to a point but after failing to score in that first 20mins it was inevitable what would happen because we defend so poorly. We defend poorly because we have a number of poor defenders who continually find themselves in no-man’s land unable to affect the game.

It’s not what they do, it’s what they don’t do or are physically incapable of doing. The concern is they continue to be selected.

The first 20 mins was brilliant. But Townsend getting injured completely changed the game. He's been replaced by somebody who doesn't run, when Townsend runs the most.

They've been trying it for weeks now and they're getting worse at it. I have no idea why he's persisting with it when it's clearly not working. Worrying stuff.

We shouldn't have to accept it - its beyond a joke that these absolute wasters can't fight for even one point away from home - but its the current reality

Lampard needs to wake up and stop being so naive with his coaching/tactics - players need to catch a grip of themselves and put in some effort and pride and fight and heart and show any signs of capability in their defending and tackling and positioning and tracking

These players make me physically sick

Really good pressing for 15minutes, then we went into sit back mode. The goals we conceded were pathetic.

At no point are any of our players close to the Palace players involved in the goal. Don’t sniff the danger ever. Same for the corner. Free header with only Keane trying to attack the ball but he’s got to get through Eze to get near it.

Players can’t even do the basics. Simple run from Zaha, simple ball popped into him them a simple cut back for Mateta. No tracking from our players and zero defensive awareness. Opposition teams must be rubbing their hands when they see it’s us up next. So easy to play against.

Probably the worst midfield and attack tbh

It's a reoccurring theme now though. Look good for 20mins without laying much of a glove or capitalising...then concede easily.

I do think if the pressure was sustained and controlled we'd be a better side but we cant. We're slow in transition defensively and attacking.

Don't have the players for a wing back system that relies on wingbacks high to allow the wide players to attack the middle and box. Don't have a sitting disciplined defensive mid to clean up and help the back 3 out.

Add to the fact our defenders are man for man are not premier league level, means it's doesn't work.

I've never seen defenders get caught out as many times nor get out muscled so easily.
