David Moyes - Tactically Inept

I was dissapointed with the side selection today....

however having said that - i thought heitinga and neville did a good job today, and as much as cahill has been out of form i thought he put a decent shift in today - granted without looking altogether threatening.

Moyes has always been safety first and thats not going to change... at the end of the day it was a decent point against a team in a bit of form

Waits for the traditional "Damon Defence" of David Moyes.

I can't for the life of me see one, but I'm sure there is a defence that can be scraped out of the bottom of the barrel somewhere. Probably involving Bill Kenwright, money etc.

He's not that bad actually, his defensive tactics are pretty solid. It's just once you get into midfield he goes, errr, GOOD! KEEP GOING!

Barkley signed a 4 1/2 year deal a few weeks ago.

No game time since.

Poor argument.

That I didn't know and he only signed on the 16th, but at the same time we have a ****load of games coming up, he has to balance the team out.

Just like this Moyes out bollocks, and he's just admitted in his post match interview that is a terrible decision and it wasn't a penalty.

1.) Don't deflect

2.) Yes it was... who said it wasn't? What does that have to do with anything in this thread?

And have vultures circling around him? I can personally understand why he's being kept under wraps, Villa did the same with Marc Albrighton until he committed his future to them.

Martinez turned down the Villa job he won't come here, Poyet just signed a new deal with Brighton, Lambert is too committed to Norwich and why would he leave a club in the same position as us and will have money to spend? and Di Matteo is doing his coaching badges at Chelsea.

Martinez stayed over loyalty for some reason but wont be there for too long...
Poyet would stay at Brighton? Yeah right.
Lambert jumped ship from Colchester after smashing Norwich 6-0...and he's gonna have looooads to spend aint he? Who's got the better squad Norwich or us?
Di Matteo would jump at the change to manage a premier league club.

We're paying Moyes £65k a week....we'd be knocking em back with a ****ty stick.

Yes he has to balance the team mate, but Barkley isn't playing at all.

Cahill is playing every game, and starting all but one in recent memory, despite now going an entire calendar year without a goal.

I understand the restrictions he's working under, and they are bloody restricting. But he has still has some quality at his disposal that I feel he doesn't use, or that he uses incorrectly. Osman for example, shunted out wide after his best performance in 6 months, to accommodate Cahill who hasn't scored in 12 months. As someone else said, what kind of message does that send to the rest of the squad?

Spot on. It amazes me how people still think we're lucky somehow to have David Moyes, a manager who adopts the worst style of football imaginable, has won fook all and is paid more than the vast majority of managers in the league.

Anyone on that list would jump at managing us for the money alone.

Yep! lets never play any of our 'good' players incase somebody wants to buy them eh?
Top plan that mate

Yeah it is, and plus he's only 17 or 18 you can't put pressure on the kids, its not fair on them.

May I introduce you to Alex McLeish?

Moyes was great in his heyday. But Blue Bill has cast a spell on him. Changes have to be rung up by next term at least.

Have this dodgy feeling Barkley or Rodwell will finance our bank loans for next year. Barkley should be getting at least a sub runout. I think it's him gone in the winter or by the summer for sure for about 15 million.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say perhaps he's not playing Barkley simply to not allow us to become dependent on him and/or spare us blues extra heartbreak when he is sold this transfer window or the next.
