David Moyes - Tactically Inept

Hahaha, God I know he became a bit of a waster and didn't play a lot for us before he left (not gonna dwell on those reasons) but I sure as hell miss the feller. My old man was wanting to get rid of him from the moment we bought him, delighted in seeing him at the dinner table on xmas day to tell him how many goals he'd scored this season.

I was and always will be a massive fan of the Yak. He may be gone but his smile will live on. x

It's unfathomable. I guess Moyes logic would be that we don't concede a lot of goals from corners, so it must work.

Id like to know the stat for that. If its not the corner its after the corner when we either spend time scrambling to get the ball out, or if we do get it out we can counter cos we're slow

To my mind, his tactics at the moment smack of 'back to basics ' as a reaction to our early struggles. His opinion is that principal aim is to not concede. Second aim is to score. When we struggle he goes 'back to basics ' and focuses only on aimbnumber one.

Hence six defenders on the pitch. Long ball passes to give the team time to regain their shape discipline constantly.

Unfortunately thuis is counter productive as we all can see...inviting pressureand blunting any goal threat. The players we have can perform well in an attacking, short passing system, we all have seen this. Most of all cahill, saha, Osman, baines, Fellaini drenthe.

Needs a kick up the backside and just go attacking. Should havedoje this against weaker sides at home butwas so negative and is feedingan insecure mindset in the players

It's surprising that having so many bodies in there to block Howard that we don't actually concede more goals.

Like with any job if you have been there for too long as Moyes has, you accept working within the limitations of what you have instead of going about trying to change the system. The belief has gone, and it is replaced by a reality that we are a struggling mid-table side at best.

Moyes now accepts that he isn't competing against the top 6 any more. And any time we play the top 4 it is a case of damage limitation. At one time it wasn't like that - he genuinely believed that he could go out and compete, but those days are now gone. We've lost the mentality that we belong up there. Now it's just a case of turn up, do your best, and it if isn't good enough then that's not my fault, we'll just try the same again next week and hope the opposition is weaker. There is no collective effort or will to change things, so we continue to drift on and off the pitch.

Beautyfully summed up.

MOYES OUT

Its worse than that mate, he has just played two defenders in midfield against Sunderland. looks like damage limitation against anybody we play away.

If I was only on 65k a week not to care.

We're half way into the seasons and we are still witnessing the same flaws we had at the start.

Lack of goals
Unable to defend well
Too much long balls
Unable to attack with pace
vulnerable to counter attack
Crap substitution
Defensive starting 11

It's either he is clueless or refuse to change.
I refuse to believe he is the Einstein of football, or the best there is out there. Infact I think he's exactly opposite.

the problems I listed is not new. It's been around for a few seasons and it will continue for a few more season if Moyes does not change his philosophy of football. Fox mate mention how Moyes see himself as untouchable and I think that is the worst thing that could happen to our club.

If anyone can convince me that all these issue will disappear at the end of the seasons I would gladly stick with Moyes, but now I'm quite convince we will not see the change as long as he is the manager.
