I love moyes and think he is one of the greatest assets our club has and i hate thinking about where wed be without him. That being said, sometimes he definetly gets it wrong and it can be frustrating.
When I saw we were starting nev and heitinga in midfield, I was frustrated. I hoped being down at halftime, moyes would need to make a change and hoped he would pull off nev and bring on Guaye (moving Osman In the middle, where he is great). I think he was even considering it right up until we scored (he was warming up). Once it was tied again, I knew he wouldn't make an offensive move like that, and that is when I started seeing all that people complain about on here.
Our first sub was bringing guaye on, sweet, but for who? For drenthe?! What? Why pull off our spark plug and the only real offensive playmaker? He hadn't had a great day but no big mistakes needing punishment.
I know everyone is wondering why Cahill started. I was with them initially, until I heard the announcers talking about cahill's scoring record against them. Apparently he has made a habit of making Sunderland his bitch. Moyes plan was all making sense. He sat Cahill last week to get him riled up and make sure he knows his form needs improvement. Then we get Sunderland, perfect team to unleash a renewed Cahill on. In moyes mind, this was going to be the perfect script to get Cahill on track again. Sadly, Cahill just didn't do it. Moyes kept waiting until he just had no choice, so he pulls Cahill off, and replaces him with... What? Not Barkley?
Ugh. Come on moyes. We can do better. The points wre there for us today and we all know it.
