David Moyes - Taking a knife to a gunfight at West Ham, Part 2

He’s saved them twice from relegation and now has them fighting for a Champions League spot. What more does he have to do?!?

The only outright disaster he has overseen was Sunderland, as he actually managed to beat relegation at Sociedad.

He’s a quality manager. Some people just can’t stand a pragmatist getting results. If you make your teams solid, defend well, and get players playing above their ability to win games they deride it. They much prefer to see some ‘philosophy’ based manager, who gets adulation from sky and BY, despite most of the time being absolutely hopeless, but there’ll always be the odd 3-2 against a West Brom to show what a cavalier side you are despite being bottom half. Martinez was their dream.

Even the Sunderland job wasn't that bad. Pretty sure they got relegated to league 1 the season after and haven't got out of it. The reality is, he made a league 1 squad vaguely competitive. I'm not saying it was a brilliant job, but it was not a disaster given the wider context.

He’s having a cracking season and good luck to him.
NEA about the Baines / Fellaini thing now, you have to get over these things.
He did far more good than bad in his time at Everton and actually gave us a bit of an identity back after years of being absolutely turd.
Of course he will be judged by what he won which was nothing. But in the seasons he was here, his top 6 record was very impressive and that’s with far less resources that have been afforded to all managers since him.
He can organise a side and as we saw with the likes of Peinaar & Arteta, throw some tricky performers into his sides and he can make things look good.

He’s o k if you don’t want to win anything.

Hard to say really when the cards were stacked massively against him at us. Hamstrung by Kenwright financially he single handedly kept this club in the Premier League make no mistake.

Be interesting to see what he does at WHU who can spend a bit of coin.

The Utd gig was always a poisoned chalice following on from SAF imo.

All about opinions mate, personally I was glad to see him leaving after what ? Twelve years it was time for a change.

Boss fan because you’re messiah, David Moyes, DOES NOT deserve to be mentioned in the same breath has Howard Kendall

have a word with yeself lidette
Where have I said that? Go on invent something. He deserves a place on our legends wall. Would has name be in a bigger font that Kendalls? No. Ming
